My apologies to Skunk Anansie.
I'm a Domme. Not all of my meets and partners are on a D/s basis but some are.
In D/s arrangements, sometimes I dictate things but usually I prefer to offer choices.
It's an entertaining game. I give my willing victim the choice between the unpalatable thing I want them to do, and a much worse option.
They can't complain, right? They chose that outcome so it must be what they want.
It's a great game and it amuses me endlessly.
So, when is a choice no fucking choice at all?
When does, or doesn't, a choice represent what we actually want? Or is it, since we rarely, if ever, have the choice of absolutely anything, only ever the best available or least dreadful option?
Can we ever really conclude that choosing something is an indication that's what we actually wanted? |

Easy your situation when boiled down come to two outcomes.
Outcome one) person does your hoped for option you win they lose.
Outcome two) person chooses the option neither of you want, you both lose.
It's all comes down to if you're willing to let them win or make sure you both suffer.
But of course there's always option 3.
Get up and walk away. |

Ah, but option 2 still entertains me, even if it doesn't direct things the way I would have preferred, but realistically I know the chance of them choosing the worse option is very small.
I can't lose because I never offer them anything that doesn't suit me in some way. |

"There's is always the third option - Do Nothing."
In which case you get what you're given and still have no right to complain. After all, you were given a choice and opted not to use it. |

The third option of Do Nothing means neither option is acceptable. So nothing happens. |

or if you dare to question the right to choice or more particularly how to debate the right to choice, or to be specific dare to question the person making the choices about how the choices may be debated...
Out come the ball gags and there ends any further discussion of choice. I look forward to said ball gag shortly |

Except we both know that's not how it works. |

"I sometimes have this issue when I drive past a Burger King. "
I thought you were resolute in your view of Burger King?
Personally, I prefer Burger King because they do onion rings. |
