Ok..here's a random topic. Right..first of all...I know loads of people think mediums are fake. That's fine. We all have different beliefs.
I want to see a medium..to maybe connect with loved ones and to maybe get some guidance on my future.
However, I am really worried the medium might say that swinging is going to go wrong and ruin my life. Am also worried that like my grandma will come through and be utterly disgusted.
I am laughing writing this because I know it sounds bonkers but I am genuinely worried about this aspect.
Anyone got an experience or advice? |

Got told i'd have 3 kids, i've actually had 5.
My best mate thinks they're really accurate though, i think it's because she's not as logical as me.
If it's gonna make you worry i wouldn't go. No point in making yourself miserable when there's not even any proof they are doing anything other than cold reading. |

I doubt they'll tell you anything bad, I thought they tended to tell you what they think you want to hear, so that they get the repeat business.
Bet your gran would have some stories about what they all got up to during the war though!

I'm the type of person who believes in it.I saw a woman and she said a lot of weird/correct things she could never know. They don't usually tell you bad things. Don't worry! X |

I see one about once a year. Not everything she says is accurate, but some of the things she has said to me have blown my mind away as there is no way she would know any of it as it's very precise. It's best to see one who is recommended to you. |

The thing to know is this .... spirit respects privacy , so there is no need to worry about the swinging exploits . I am always surprised that people assume their loved ones who are passed over can suddenly give them lottery numbers and etc , the chances are if your dear aunt endna wasnt psychic in life she still isnt psychic in the afterlife .If a medium tells you they can definately connect with someone , then they are a fraud , it is not that simple . I think if you get a good psychic medium they get more impressions and images rather than real words so the worst you would hear is you haven't settled down yet or you make sure you enjoy life -That kind of thing - not OMG you're a swinger!
Agee with above - they generally don't say bad stuff and most of them usually read you rather than have contact with dead relatives.
I did get one once that told me there was dispute about my OH's parentage which was spot on and not something I think they could pluck out of the air. Especially as it was very controversial and correct  |

I had a medium totally confused.
At the time I was married, had a partner and a slave.
She said she couldn't read me as i didn't make sense.

Google Derek Acorah Kreed Kafer for all you need to know about mediums. Also question why, when he used to be possessed by the 'anonymous' spirits he encountered, he was able to take on their supposed 'voices' but when he did the so-called Michael Jackson seance he said in advance that he wouldn't take on his voice. Funny that, when people actually knew what MJ sounded like!!

What you're doing here is projecting the things that you're really concerned about on to a third party. You're worried that a medium will tell you these things because you believe them to be true. If you really are concerned that swinging is going to go wrong and ruin your life then have a good look at why you're doing it and what aspects of it could go wrong and either stop or change the way you do it.
A medium that makes their living from it is rarely genuine, I know you don't want to hear that. What the genuine ones do whether they know it or not is based on intuition and they will reflect your fears and hopes back to you with a probable outcome......just as I just did. |

If you don't like hearing opinions you don't want to hear (as demonstrated above) then seeing a medium might not be the thing to do.

I'm on the fence about it! On the one hand logically it utter nonsense!
In the other hand my nan (dads mum) was a medium and the first time she met my mum they were having a conversation about how many siblings my mum had! She gave the usual response of 2 brothers 2 sisters. To which my nan replied no u have another sister (my auntie Sharon died at 3 years old before mum was born). Not sure what to think of it but true story! |

My friend went to a medium local to us, she had one new born girl at the time and the medium told her by 2020 I think it was she'd be looking for a 3 bedroomed place, she'd be living with a new male and that think would go south with her family. Well she fell pregnant not 6 months later, gave birth to a boy By 2020 she will need an extra room due to laws I think. She is currently in a relationship ship with a new guy who is by the looks of things better for her and as for her family - her mum's an alcoholic, her 16yo niece is pregnant and living with her bf(15) and not talking to any of the family bar my friend and her dad has very little to do with her. Granted she could have said very different things but it came out that way and they were all linked in one sense or another. Never been to a medium but go yourself and just take it as it goes |

Go to one but make sure they are highly recomnended. I was totally sceptical till I went to a couple local to me who both are spiritualists and they have been absolutely spot on each time I've been with stuff they could never ever have guessed and have been equally right with lots of my friends too!! |

OP it's your subconscious telling you these things about the swinging. You are scared that a medium will say it to you because you believe them to be able to read your thoughts. The grandmother thing is,because deep down you worry what family members would think of you.
I always refer to swinging as my taboo hobby, a dark side of my psyche that thrives on the excitement of debauchery and decadence.
I am always drawn to programmes about the fetish world, about swinging, sexual erotism etc. Swinging gave me the ability to see it for myself, to take part in things up to my boundaries. There are things I've seen that I didn't like, bukkake, bdsm play etc, but I still had to see it. Sex has never been the draw for me.
I think of swinging as dark, seedy, taboo, my secret life. Its a thrill to be doing something I perceive as wrong. The rest of my life is conventional, professional career, family, house, etc. I don't live for swinging, that's why I wouldn't involve swinging friends with my real life, I don't think about sex constantly, don't have a high sex drive, wouldn't be interested in sex at work, don't wear sexy clothing every day etc. I think of 'iconic' as being a separate person and team with the two of us.
After all that rambling, my point is maybe you think similar Op, and you are worried that your secret side will be revealed.
Go to the medium for a bit of fun and don't worry that she will read your thoughts. Most of them are masters of body language and nothing more |

My take on mediums are. If they could really talk to the dead. There would never be any unsolved murders or people who have died and still missing . Surely they could just ask them " who did it. Or where they are |

All I can say is that some mediums are better than others..A good one should be mindful how they handle certain subjects. I also believe that even the spirit leave the room out of respect.
I wonder if this is a concern for you because subconsciously you think there's an issue?

As with all things where faith is required people will conveniently overlook glaring inconsistencies.
