As a Labour man, I have to say - you Scots abandoned your Labour MP's en masse - so, by default you let the Tories in - well done - now get on with Independence and let's see how you go. No way should such a small nation THINK it can have such a big say - UKIP gets millions more votes than SNP - yet just 1 MP - laughable if it wasn't so serious - proportional representation HAS to be the way forward - the likes of SNP would not then think they can hold the whole of the UK to ransom - trust me the SNP will one day be viewed as the WORST thin that ever happened to Scotland - just that people cannot see the bigger picture.

Actually, if you look at the numbers, that's not actually true.

Even if every constituency in Scotland had returned a Labour MP - the Conservatives would have still won an overall majority.

I would agree that Labour have relied on the scottish vote for many years, but it's actually in England that they lost the election

The majority of scots said we want to be British, so your independence stuff just shows how gullible you have been to south of the border political spin.

Even if sturgeon wants it- the people said no!!!!

How hard is that for you to understand before you say 'let them have their independence'

No - the point is that we all knew the Nationalist movement in Scotland would result in Labour being wiped out up there HENCE tactical voting in England started because we didn't want the odious SNP holding us to ransom - Labour people actually voted tory just to keep the SNPs big noses out of our business - unheard of previously for a Labour person to vote tory - true this time

Trust me - we are not gullible - hence tactical voting this time around to ensure SNP has no say on English matters - we're sick of hearing about the Scots to be honest. I know several English business men/women in Scotland and a couple have already said they are getting out - because they can see what's coming - SNP have always wanted independence - I would say it's you lot who are gullible - you've let the SNP in by abandoning your socialist beliefs - independence is now inevitable

'Out of our business'...sounds like you should try for England to leave the union.

Why should you share all the money brought in by the union when your the bigger country you can just say tough luck little ones!

And before you spout more benefits per capita, Scots generate more income per capita than rest of UK- stick that stat in your ungrateful wallet!

I`m not going to get dragged in any more. Enjoy your independence - but like we say - don't come crying to the English when you are bankrupt

If the next labour leader straps on a pair and talks to the snp the Tories could never get a single bill through the house

I'm glad your not getting dragged in anymore, your addicted to misbelieving the scots want independence to fuel your own hatred for us is holding a decent debate back.

Odds on you coming back are shorter than it was for a hung parliament.....

The tories have a CLEAR majority ? They can get what they want through - the only reason that wouldn't happen is IF their own tory MPs rebelled.

I`ve never hated anyone because of where they come from - but as with many of us quieter English people - got sick and tired of loud mouthed Scots spouting off everywhere with their ant- English sentiment etc. There comes a time when everyone stands up for themselves and, trust me, we are sick to death of hearing about bloody Scotland and the SNP - me done now

To be fair..you sick of loud mouthed scots but not a word sunk into your head....your clueless about the independence referendum (we don't want it FYI)

So excuse me if I treat any further input from you as if it was said by a 5year old....to summarise....we said No in September 2014

Hilarious !! The SNP want independence - they now basically have a stranglehold in Scotland - and you don't think independence will result?? How naïve. You sold Labour down the river to the Nationalist - you reap what you sow - good luck

I have to correct you on that a little, Scots did generate more due to the oil revenue but that has fallen enough to take it the other way. I love Radio 4 ! I just think its a shame that things cannot be harmonious for the good if the vast majority rather than the noisy minority .
