Don’t get me wrong… I am not a dentist dodger… I go for my check-ups.
They say some of the top fears of going to the dentist include:
Needles – nope that doesn’t bother me and it’s a good job; I’ve been known to need 3-4 injections just for one small filling, as my adrenaline levels go through the roof and counteract the anaesthetic.
Fear of chocking – yeah right, since when has laying back with my mouth open ever been a problem for me! lol
For me it’s the noise of the drill. I can’t even listen to the sound of teeth being cleaned by the dentist without leaving the hand grips of the chair crushed… it sounds too much like the drill.
I have to go this afternoon... I am thinking of having garlic bread for lunch. |

Its not just the sound of the drill its the vibration in your head from it
I try my best to do relaxation exercises while in the chair...........they don't work though |

North of The Wall - youll need your vest |
Im in agony for days after I go to the dentist - not because of the pain of any treatment, but because Ive been so tense all my muscles ache.
I swear that only the back of my head and my heels touch the chair when I lie down - the rest of me is as rigid as a board |

I had a lot of work done on my teeth when I was younger and never had a problem with dentists until about 12 years ago.
I went to a NHS dentist near Oxford and it was my first visit to a dentist for about 2 years so needed a filling, 7 injections later and I could still feel everything, I remember lying in the chair with the tears running across my face into my ears....since then I have anxiety attacks once the appointments are made.
My Mum still has to come with me and my new Dentist (who is fantastic and very supportive) puts me in my own little waiting room...now whether this is to not to upset the other patients Im not sure
I need a crown doing at the minute but still havent confirmed with him when im going to get it done, he calls every other month to see if Im ready yet....im not....but will get there...at some point LOL!!! |

My dentist doesn't give anesthetic injections unless he believes you need it.
So far he hasn't got it wrong. It doesn't hurt but you are more aware of whats going on, upside is you walk out feeling fine rather than one side of your face feeling like a lump of dead meat. |

It's not the sound of the drill that makes me retch, it's the smell of burning teeth as they drill that is vomit inducing.
I've just had a lot of work completed and the dentist was bloomin' lovely and having her bending over me looking into my eyes for periods of up to 1/2 hour was very alluring. I'm sure she could read my mind and know I wanted to fuck her gorgeous brains out over the chair I was sitting in. |
