People often whinge they are not getting the attention they seek, or not getting the right messages etc.
But surely, they could cross-check their Profile, how they have constructed it and ensured all is working before putting it up for all to see.
EG., today, there is a profile I spotted. a Single Female seeking only Men. Her Profile states just that, her preferences mirror that too, and yet when I tried to message her, she has set her Filters to block all messages from Men!!

This is common for people that don't want to mesaages by every bloke within a 100 mile radius so they block single guys from messaging and they message the ones they are interested in. Seems perfectly sensible to me. |

Looking at the responses so soon, I can see how others see it, from a perspective I hadn't thought of.
It does make sense, even though I didn't see it myself.

People aren't under any obligation to keep their profile text current, nor to reflect changing tastes or circumstances.
Sometimes people are overcome by personal circumstances, and they block selected categories from mailing them - this can include being overwhelmed with messaging, being 'stalked', users who persistently set-up new profiles, to get around having been blocked - the list goes on.
A quick way to stop any hassle, is to adjust filters, and takes just a few minutes.
I think the majority of profiles don't get that much attention, once they are initially written. Users don't search for help much or critically review what they've written.
If you're blocked from sending to someone that you'd like to - then just move on to the next person. We can't solve all of the problems of the world, or the fab world and profiles, but we can manage our own efforts, such that they are likely to prove more fruitful. Plenty of other users here. One door closed, then find an open one. |
