Mike Oldfield, Tubular bells. At a carboot. Was so excited!! Couldn't wait to get it home and play it without thinking I couldn't as I didn't have a record player. Gutted! YouTube came in handy. Not quite the same though.

Turntables are pretty cheap if you buy an all in one...but can be very expensive if an audiophile... |

1.3 million vinyl albums were sold in 2014, the highest for 20 years.
"

I have a few flight cases full of techno from my dj'ing days.
Been looking into buying myself some 1200's, it's been a good few years since I spun a few. |

Good to see the HMV, argyle street has now got a decent good stock of re-pressed vinyl.
Only about 4 to 5 years ago is was very little.
Was tempted by re-pressed:
Led Zeppelin
Pink floyd.
In the end bought - the doors. |

"They are selling vinyl again in HMV but at £20 an album. Charity shops are an Aladdins cave for vinyl hunters ita worth a nose "
indeed they are ..but be aware some are in pretty dire shape... in the olden days an auld half p would weigh the needle down ,to plough through the scratches ... but long term its not a good idea ... |

I saw a The Creation when they briefly reformed in 1994. Eddie Phillips did indeed pioneer the violin bow with electric guitar that Jimmy Page nicked. Jimmy became a millionaire legend....Eddie became a Routemaster bus driver!! |

Still got all my old vinyl. Didn't join the ranks of the techno-junkies who couldn't wait to throw it all out.
Last vinyl albums l bought back in the day were New York by Lou Reed & Songs for Drella by Reed & John Cale. |

Got a DVD of The Creation when they Briefly reformed in mid 90s!,I think it was Singer Kenny Pickett doing work with Led Zep who told Jimmy Page of the work Eddie Phillips did with the Violin Bow on Painter Man that took Jimmys attention. |
