So I've always been more of a road bike/sports bike man but I do like the idea of some light off reading (more tracks than trying to drive up the footsteps of a mountain goat:p)

Seen a few places that offer lessons/guides rides etc.

Has anyone used one/know of a good one?

Figure better to test it for a day or two on someone else's machine and see if I like it also learn how to not get an exhaust lodged somewhere that would make applying the burn ointment a two person job

I started with off road scramblers and green lanes. Still miss my bulltaco but 2 smashed knees later and well think I'll stick to rds now that I'm an old man

More fun on a horse. They can go places a vehicle can't.

With you being near Chester, I think Dellemere have a cycle club, failing that just use the powers of Google.

My ex had trials bikes and was actually really good, he was even sponsored by gasgas and had a new bike off them every year, taught me how to ride them as well. Loved going out on the bikes, one of the things I miss about him, his bikes and his decks!
