He's been on holiday with his kids and his married fwb has dumped him because he didn't call or text her whilst he was away.

I'm not sure why it matters that she's married or that his ex and her partner are alcoholics.

I didn't fully understand

Is he saying he went on holiday with his kids and because he didn't tell his married fuck buddy she had dumped him?

Did the alchololic mother and partner go too?

Its written a bit to confusingly for me

Glad you had a great weekend with your kids, you clearly have your priorities right. Now apologise to your friend in an appropriate manner, and realise that at the very least you should have warned her you were going to be off-radar for the weekend.

If your ex is an alcoholic, and you feel you could provide your kids with a better life, talk to them about it, and do something about it. Otherwise learn to accept what you cannot change.

Realise that there is only one person standing between you and the life you want, so reach out and grab life by the bollocks. You will not get a second chance.

Good luck

Mr ddc
