Hey everyone my partner has the coil in and we are wondering if there is any way she can stop her period from coming as we have tickets for swingingfields and we just checked the dates could fall on her period day...

Any ideas would be great thanks...

You could ask the GP for norethisterone tablets if she is using the mirena coil, not sure about with a copper coil. Alternately there are Beppe sponge tampons.

I have the coil fitted in march and asked whether norethisterone would stop my period I was told no it wouldn't it only stops it after it started.

I have the mirena coil. You have to start taking it 3 days before your period is due. I've not heard about taking it to stop it once it's started?

If not consider Beppy tampons. The wet.ones are better than the dry.

My wife has seen the doc for pills to delay her period a couple of times now. We've decided against her doing it again though because when she does come on it's much much worse than usual.

Mine too is the mirena coil I'm taking the tablets now to stop it as I've been on for 10 days.

I had asked because like the op I was also attending a swingers party.

They're a sponge tampon which is designed to be worn during sex. They come either wet or dry. The wet ones have lube on and are shaped more so they are easier to insert and retrieve. Both types have a little hole you can thread with a bit of dental floss to aid removal if you need.
