I'm going to a wedding on Sunday. So all week Iv been pampering myself ready for the big day. Had the brows preened and tinted, hair coloured, nails done, having a spray tan and pedicure. Was chatting to a friend earlier and they said Iv gone too overboard on the pampering and pity any guy I date as I'm too high maintenance. I don't think I am. I just want to look and feel nice on my friends special day. Do you think Iv gone overboard? |

Nothing wrong with looking after yourself and taking pride in your appearance, especially for a special event.
It's when you spend hours every day going through a rigorous beauty regime and can't pass a mirror without stopping and preening that you get into high maintenance territory ... |

Alternatively, any man you date may well be pleased you like to look your best to go out.
Why is being high maintenance anything to do with whom you date anyway? Unless it's a sexist comment and they think it would be up to the man to fund it. |

Not at all. I did all these things for a charity ball I attended last Saturday. It's quite nice having something special to go to and really go to town on the pampering. You go and enjoy yourself. |

Exactly, so why should it make any difference to anyone you date? I don't see the connection. |

I know women who do that weekly/monthly just as their normal routine |

In my head I'm high maintenance but in reality I rarely have the time or the money to pamper myself properly. ..maybe when the kids have grown up andi retire I'll be able to become a high maintenance granny |

No,there's nothing wrong with pampering yourself, even if you do it daily. It makes you look and feel good. I wish I had the energy to do it all every day. I like to make an effort when I meet someone I'm really attracted to and confident he's going to be worth the hours of prep |

In glam mode, I can't do enough preparation. In drab more, I'll start getting myself ready about 10 minutes before I leave. In this case getting ready means drinking my tea, brushing my teeth and putting my shoes on. |

Don't bank on that. I have less money for myself now than when my kids were little. I used to spend £80-£100 on my hair. Now I can't bring myself to pay that much so I dye it myself and my hairdresser niece cuts it. I can't stand anyone touching my feet and hate my nails painted so I only let my granddaughter do my polish and toes. waxing you can keep, way too painful, I'll stick to shaving thanks. I was thinking of popping next door for a facial in the week but I didn't get time. We all like to feel like pampered princesses some times |
