Occasionally I'll jump right in and take a risk but it's pretty rare. In general, I tend to think things through and weight up the pros and cons. I'm probably far too practical and sensible for my own good.

Took a huge leap in my career a little over a year ago.
Ditched my dead end job and started a new post down in Cardiff more than 200 miles from home, taking a pay cut in the process.
The weekly commute and being away from my kids has been tough to start with, but everything settled down quickly enough.
Has been the best decision I've made for a long time.
Don't get stuck in a rut.
Leap, but always look where your putting your feet, or you'll step in dog shit |

In some respects I take more risks, in others less!
When I was younger shyness constrained me so I am more confident in doing things like being on here as I get older. I also take the approach of 'what's the worst they can say, no?' a lot more now.
But in terms of actual physical risk I'm a lot less risky these days. Prime example there's some stepping stones over a river where we often go in holiday. A bit tricky and slippery at times, I used to hop skip and jump over them in a matter of seconds but now take much more care and time! Must be getting old! |
