"I'd test it first.
how? Without making a cake
A little one first."
Well if it says online or in recipe that it is a good alternative, or will not ruin stuff, then i would press ahead and should be okay...You can usually find out whether things are an acceptable substitute
Hope it all works okay...let us know as have considered using that myself... |

"I just asked google who told me that you can make cakes with it . I had no idea you could even get it, how do they make flour from coconut? "
Just remove impurities and dry it out then grind it.
Check if it's self raising, otherwise you'll need to add baking powder to get your cakes to rise. I've never used it. |

Interesting, if I see some I might buy it and give it a go. I do like cake. Does it impart a coconut flavour? |

Might do?
I use coconut oil for cooking. Weirdly it doesn't leave a coconut taste at all but things smell like candy floss. |

Definately use specific coconut flour recipies, as you need to add a lot more eggs to it compared to a standard recipe..but it does make really nice banana bread ! it does make slightly denser cake than basic sponge though.Have a look on pinterest - it has loads of recipe ideas for it on there |
