Maglites are cool if you want then to double up as a truncheon  almost in destruction

the one I used for caving had a double bulb lamp ... Low power and halogen with focusing ... and was waterproof too
lasted hours 
Probably led ones out there now which would kick its butt  |

Broke em both in my time.LED torches are so cheap now I go for quantity not quality.
You can buy 5 cheap one's for one good one and unless your life depends on them that's good enough. |

I've had my Petzl head torch for 6 years, never let me down yet. From reading in bed to a midnight summit trek on Kilimanjaro, it's done everything in between. |

My LED maglight has developed an annoying intermittent fault that I've never been able to sort out. My Petzl headlamp has operated faultlessly for over 2 years, despite it getting bashed about and abused |
