If the medication is causing it then don't take the tablet unless you've finished the medication or it will just recurr.
Speak to your pharmacist about the higher strength cream and also about pessaries (can be used more frequently that the one off tablet). If you're on the medication for a while speak to your doctor about the one tablet twice a day for a week instead of the one off tablet.

Thrush infection is present in all of us (it is one cause of nappy rash in babies), but is normally kept in check by other bacteria and micro organisms in the body.
When a person is prescribed antibiotics, corticosteroids or even some birth control pills this balance is disturbed leading to a thrush infection.
For best results it is advisable to leave treatment until after the course of antibiotics or corticosteroids has finished, but using the cream will relieve the symptoms.
Once the course of other medication has finished treat the thrush with a pessary and cream

A side effect of taking antibiotics is the problem of getting thrush.
I have had a chest onfection recently that required several courses of anotibiotics before it went and ended up getting thrush, i used the canstan pack that has an appilcator pre loaded with cream plus a small tube of cream to use aswell, it soon got rid of the thrush
Good luck xx |

"Treat the thrush after the meds but get the Active Balance gel as well. Use this for a week and it will get you back to normal. Then you can use it once a week to keep good balance.
"
Or rePHfresh. Boots sell them both. |

Femfresh can aggravate thrush in many women.
You shouldn't use soap down there, just water. If you feel the need to use more get some aqueous cream from your local chemists and use that. |

My wife got it with antibiotics for tonsillitis. When she got a second bout she mentioned to the doc about getting thrush last time and she was given a pill to take as a one off and she didn't get thrush that time. She's slso eaten lots of probiotic yoghurt. |
