Now that I have your attention cos you think this is about amateur porn.....
My brother, some friends & myself plan to spend tomorrow evening running around making a deliberately bad short horror film in the style of Garth Marenghi. We want the boom coming into shot, wooden acting etc. Any film makers or people with imagination out there got any ideas for continuation errors or bad cutting or anything that I can pass off as my own idea tomorrow?
The general plot is, 2 guys turn up at a party & enter, the next guy comes & has become a zombie before arriving. As the three struggle a 4th kills the zombie. But one is now infected & chases the other 2. The 2 flee in a car but little do they know one of them is now infected. The film ends with them making the discovery |

Well you should have at least mentioned a spoiler alert!
The best Garth Marenghi line is when the Alice Lowe character dies, and she is described as being 'like a candle in the wind....unreliable'

Continuity fuckups in real films have included things such as items (a glass maybe) in actors hand in shot 1, cut to WA and its gone, cut back to single and there it is again.
Go anywhere near windows or mirrors and you have to work to keep the crew out of shot, so you'll obviously not manage to do that.
You need to shoehorn a McGuffin in there for bad horror.
Clocks in the background can be a problem for continuity too - you always make sure to avoid them in films unless it's essential to the plot |

Blood smears changing location in between shots. Cutting from one camera angle to another and the costume of one character changes. Out of synch ADR. Sounds at the wrong time. Using the actor's name instead of the character's. Mouthing someone else's line as they speak it... |

Some good tips there thanks!!
I'm thinking of coming in the house in black cons then being in red ones inside the house. We plan to overdub my lines for added Marenghification. Cameraman in the window is a good shout.
My favourite Marenghi line is "don't drink that, it's bright green!" |
