Crawley

I'm booked in for a couple of weeks time, so I've had a search for "vasectomy" and there's some useful and hilarious comments....made me chuckle (bricks / nads size of coconuts etc)

Seems like the keyhole is no worse than a bit of a kick in the nuts pain wise.

What about libido afterwards? Guys, any changes in how it feels cumming and any drop off in performance, as it were? Girls....noticed anything new / better / worse etc?

Thanks all.

I had one about 4 years ago, never had any problems at all since. No scarring and healed really quickly. Was in and out of hospital within a couple hours. I was a wimp though and had a full anesthetic rather than a local one.

And libido wise it didn't affect me At all. All the horror stories seemed to pass me by

Had mine ages ago at a Marie Stopes clinic where they cauterize and tie which apparently is the safer bet! The initial pain of each cut was a bit intense but brief, even after local anesthetic. My balls went the colour of coal for about a week and ached like crazy for a few days. Absolutely no difference in sexual performance.

I had mine about 9 years ago, I have a constant ache in my left side bit like the pain after you've been kicked in the nuts and the pain is subsiding...

Right side no problems, when I ejaculate there's quite a lot of pain again from my left side..

Had mine a few years ago keyhole method only issue was Doc didnt put enough anaesthetic in one ball and when he cut felt like mike tyson punched me in guts.

But in all honesty after that no problems sent home with pain killers went and lay on bed for the impending pain when anaesthetic wore off and never had any pain and painkillers not needed, bit cautous walking for few days after but in reality not a problem

I had mine done 8 years ago, I do suffer a little bit with a cyst on my right testicle. But am unsure as to whether that was caused by the vasectomy.

I have no sex drive problems, if anything I have more staying power.

From a womans prospective I've had past comments about sex being 'uncomplicated'with me. remove all pregnancy risk and sex becomes uncomplicated and more enjoyable for the woman

Had mine done years ago privately (wasnt very expensive) and was in and out in an hour, no hassle, job done.... Uncomfortable journey home in the car (speed ramps and potholes) but after an hour relaxing in the bath, all was fine.

As for post op problems. It's wasn't a case of take a paracetamol and be back in the work for the afternoon. I had Bruising, tenderness and a lower stomach pain like I had just finished a sit-up marathon. Mind you my job demands a lot of ladder climbing, so I needed a couple of days off work.

I had men about 10 years ago, other than the bruising which you would expect, absolutely no impact at all, everything remained the same.

I was in the clinic for a about 6 hours, 5 hours of which was in the waiting room, during which time, two guys bottled it and left the building.

Its pretty straight forward for most guys, hopefully, you are one of those.

Friday 5th November 1999. Can't remember the time.

Don't know if you still have to have the chat beforehand about being sure it's what you want but it was suggested to me I may want another child if one of my existing ones died. I asked the consultant if his parents were still alive. He said yes. I asked if one of them died would he go looking for another one to replace them? He decided I was fine to go ahead.

Local anesthetic, (ex)wife in the room with me. I was trying to see what was going on so they got a mirror so I could look. Very strange smelling burning flesh (cauterised) knowing it's your own and feeling nothing.

Only downside is every now and then I get an ache in my right testicle. Checked out a few times but just scar tissue, apparently.

Upsides are no sixth, seventh or eighth child. Women who previously said they never ever swallowed did. That may be down to your ejaculate not being thick and creamy anymore but watery, easier to swallow?

The biggest upside is, if you're in a steady relationship, no more contraception worries.

Yep... Been to the Dr's she thinks it's scar tissue putting pressure

every so often there's an area on my left nut that if knocked (putting things in.my pocket or the like,) drops me like a stone.,..

Christ, mine isn't anywhere as bad as that. If it persists a soak in a hot bath usually does the trick.

Thanks all.

Sounds like it's not too painful and a couple of painkillers should sort it out anyway. Also, no discernable change in sex drive or quality.

May be a silly question, but where do all the sperms swim off to / go to if the road is closed as it were?

There is a small chance that even after the procedure you'll still be fertile

Its something like 0.01%

I had to provide two sperm samples at 5 week intervals or something and they check to see if it was successful

Yep..I know and more until they're clear. And in a small % of cases the male remains fertile

Had mine done about 20 years ago. Had a chat to the surgeon as he was doing it. Sore for a day or two. Told not to do heavy lifting for a few weeks. No problem at all after the soreness wore off. No drop to libido or amount of ejaculate.

Follow the advice and rest after preferably with a cold pack of peas or something to prevent swelling

No problem with sex drive or sex itself so just be sensible and don't panic it's not that bad

twenty years ago. no problems. Drop in volume of semen, slightly different colour, no effect on performance.

One point though, do not try to walk very far afterwards. It is not worth it.

HAd mine done 14 years ago under general anaesthetic, (wimped out of local anaesthetic). No problems except for a year later when scar tissue formed in one nut and got me hot footing it down to the docs when I found a lump

Had mine done in Feb.. It's as easy as going for a haircut!! Just have to wait until June to send sample 1 to the lab.. Libido never waned, but the ability to do something about it did for a few days!!

Ibuprofen for a couple of days to help with the pain did the job for me

"Random question, but after its done do you still "cum"? "

of course

you still have the "ejaculate", but it doesn't contain sperm.

You should still use a condom afterwards as there may be some sperm still within your tubes, until that has been released

"Random question, but after its done do you still "cum"? "

Yep, just fluid, the new sperm are produced nearer the abdomen and can't travel down the tubes, and after the procedure you're still fertile as there's sperm held in storage after where the cut takes place.

But where does the fluid come from? I though it all came from the testicles?

Well, friends..... I had it done a week ago today. Bloody anaesthetic injection in my nuts smarted somewhat, but the rest was completely painless.

Still "delicate" as you'd imagine and not in the slightest interested in sex yet, but have managed several "solo experiences" to check everything still ok, which it is.

Phew....!

The prostate gland produces the fluid

I had the dog done last year. Didn't seem to cure his obsessive arse sniffing but it's definitely helped with his running off habit!

Hope that helps

"Welcome to the club.. Now just 6 months to wait for the all clear and it's happy days "

Yes. Very important. Even after i was done my (now ex) wife caught pregnant, which was a pretty shit time.

The oddest thing I found was the nurse told me to get undressed and gave me some blue roll to cover my modesty, then 2 mins later whipped it away and spent the next 45 mins looking at my knob.

For me the bruising was bad. Looked like tge last banana on tescos shelf on a sunday afternoon. I did manage to blag some time off work though

Didn't notice any difference and the procedure it's was fine apart from the initial injections. Plus the smell of burning was quite off putting! Totally worth it!
