Drove 10 miles out of my way and rushed like crazy to get to the bank before it closed. Only just made it, rushed in brandishing my cheque to pay in only to realise I no longer bank there and haven't for about 5 years. |

got quite d*unk in a quiet country pub, sampling the landlord's home-distilled hooch (nb he didn't sell it, that would be illegal!), lost my wallet, didn't notice until I got home the following afternoon.
Good times: The landlord phoned me two days later to say he'd found it, and would pop it in his safe so I could call round and pick it up.
Bad times: that's a three-hour round trip - and this time I'll be driving so can't even sample his wares again. |
