Do you believe in Fate, Divine intervention or is it all just fat fingers? (Again  )

People accept fate and divine intervention when the outcome is good but you rarely hear someone say "my entire family has been wiped out by a meteor, it was undoubtedly divine intervention and fate at work" you might hear "a meteor landed just feet away from my family who by divine intervention are still alive, it's fate." |

I agree that how you react to something can make a difference but I don't believe it can dictate what happens to you. For instance a woman I know of had breast cancer which she faced with a very positive attitude and survived, she found a lump elsewhere and died during the exploratory operation at 35 years old. How did she make her own fate?
