I usually just send a quick message saying "Thanks for the wink hun" if they're not my kinda type/person I just let them go by and say nothing... they are a bit of a waste of time, if you like someone just message them in the first place! |

I see it as meaning, 'I like what I see but I can't think of anything to say to impress you cos I don't know anything about you, maybe you could read my profile and wink back if it doesn't scare the shit out of you.' |

"what you do after receiving a wink? Personally think they are half arssed and never send them but just received one from a very sexy couple. "
I check the profile then wink back if I like what I see then a message normally follows shortly after,
I also use winks the same way and if I get a return wink I then send a message it's just another part of the site why not use them I say |

I don't get many...now and again. Would always reply to say thanks, but then I don't have t do it 63 times a day like some...Don't wink people myself would rather type a message unless profile expressly said to wink...
Open minded about it really |

I wink back, if the senders hold my interest. Every leap year I may send a message instead.
I understand how frustrating it may be for single guys to send tons of messages and hear nothing, so am prepared to give them some guidance via the wink system, first off. |

If someone winks at me and I like their profile, I'll either wink back or message saying thank you for the wink.
It is more difficult to grab my attention with a wink though. They need to have a good profile and photos. |

I think winks are good for single guys as it shows someone may be interested so it's worth messaging them rather than messaging without a clue. It's worked for me a couple of times |

This for me also. If I like the profile I wink back. |

We see winks as a sign somebody is interested in us. We will have a look at them and if we fancy the look of the profile we would normally wink back and drop them a message. |

There's a 'winking' user guide on here, it's on the front page of the site but I think it might only be available for us Platinum members??
According to the guide, wink etiquette varies depending on the sex of the winker.
If a single male sends the wink then the accepted protocol is to instantly block that member, write in shouty capital letters on your profile that winkers are wankers who will be ignored, and come on to the forum incandescent with rage and start a thread berating those lazy single male winking pricks.
If the winker is female or a couple (particularly with a bi-fem) then the protocol is to ignore the shouty capitals on your own homepage, take a perv at their profile, fab a few pictures and get back to them telling them how hot they look and do they fancy a meet?
As a lone male on here I always abide by the Platinum user guides so personally don't bother with winks unless bantering with pre-existing friends or replying in kind to that rarest of things - an inward wink. |
