I found a brilliant website that rips the audio from youtube then you download it from them.

i use video downloader helper on firefox rips the whole video which is what i want most of the time

from there i use another program to rip the audio from it to the sound file

but im not doing one file at a time it can be a whole folder full of vids i want to convert to a sound file

There is a site called something like youtube MP3 converter.org that is quite good.

However it only converts tracks not claimed under copywrite and smaller than about 20 mins...

I'm not sure if they will work with youtube, but take a look at dbpoweramp, hdtracksdownloader and Quobuz.

If you want to play, load or stream music at maximum sound quality, these will be your friends; they make MP3 look like it came out of the stone-age.
