So I took the plunge and treated myself to a beautiful corest, make that 2 as it was BOGOF! Anyhoos, tried it on just now, could not get it fitting right as the 'strings' did not pull quite right, but I kinda got the drift how it would look. Then the panic set in. I could not get the bugger off!!!!!!! Managed to undo all the front fastenings apart from the Middle one. I was almost in tears trying to get it off, having a mini panic attack which affected my breathing with in turn affected my logic which in turn almost got me to the point of getting scissors to cut the bloody thing off. I was grappling with the string at the back trying to loosen the corset but it just was not happening. Stood back and caught my breath. Counted to ten. Managed to get final fastening undone.
Ideas anyone? lol |

"Do the back first or have someone on hand to help "
Would that not make it almost impossible to do up at the front? I thought you needed to loosen the back, fasten the front then pull the back together?!
Someone on hand, sadly only have my son here and don't wanna damage him any more |

"Put longer strings in it so you have more of a chance of undoing the back x"
String is really long but you pull from the Middle so the top and bottom bits don't get pulled which was when I stopped and tried to get it off lol |

"Buy one with strings and hook and eyes down the front or a zip

£12.99 off EBay

"
It has the hook and eyes on front. Zip hmmmmmm I would be wary my flab would flop out of the broken zip lol Not sure anything can hold it back that well lol
I researched to make sure I got something good first time round which was why I avoided eBay this time. Will see how I get on before I look around again.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
OP, I feel your pain. I don't wear mine unless I have a friend to get me in and out of it.
That does sometimes mean dressing one way to get there, changing and then changing back at the end. Or, being loosened to the point I can manage at the end of the evening.

Oh I understood
Well I thought at that price I'd not grumble
And both myself and the blonde in my photos are wearing them
We are both over size 22
We got in and out with minimal fuss

The lacy bit is a bra. I was covering all modesty points for that shoot.

My black one is a zip-up one, and the zip failed the very first time I put it on, due to misalignment! I re-did it and was fine, even dancing all night, but I'm not sure I would trust the bloody thing never to spontaneously open! |

I've been there! I find its just practice and getting the knack of it, finding what positions you need to bend into to get the metal clasp things done up or undone. Could you have another practice run with someone around who could help you fully loosen it if you get stuck?
I fully loosen the back as far as I can before fastening the front, then lace up. Or the reverse to take it off.
With a bit of practice as well you get to know which bits of the cord to pull to make which bits of it tighten or loosen, it's difficult to visualise when you're doing it behind your own back or with a mirror though. |

I have an overbust corset, and the middle hook is always the hardest to undo.
Make sure you've loosened the cords as much as you can, undo the other hooks and then breathe in. Then turn the fastening in towards you and push together, this should unhook it.
If not, lie down on the bed, breathe in and do it again. It will unhook, just takes a bit of fiddling with.
Just an aside, a correctly sized corset should not have the back panels meeting up when the laces are tightened. If it does it's too big.
Also if you can breathe easily in a corset it's not tight enough, lol |

I am going to take this glut of information, digest it and wait til my son is out and try again.
If all else fails, I have a bottle of disarano to ingest lol

Loosen the back as much as humanly possible. It's always the middle busk that's a bugger to undo. Lean forward, and if it's an overbust pop the boobs out for more wriggle room, swear a lot, exhale and I kind of push it in before it finally loosens.
As for tightening on your own, that gets loads easier with practice. If in doubt, door knobs. Loop one bunny ear around at a time. |

"Always put shoes on before you put your corset on. And steel boned ones are the best. I lace mine at back to fit then just have to fasten front. Lying on bed helps align the front clips easier "
Always steel boned unless you are really slim. The nylon bones just bend and dig in if you have any spare flesh. Steel bones, someone to tighten the laces (and untighten afterwards) and you can take six inches off your waist, I love them |
