Not sure if this has been covered already but I wonder if the new law has slipped under the radar a little because of its tag "Revenge Porn."
In fact the law is about sharing pornographic images without the owners consent. There is something of a legal minefield here because sites like this who share pictures technically could be aiding and abetting in a criminal offence if they cannot prove that they have taken steps to verify that everyone in the galleries is willingly there. For example, there are many images on profiles that show other people, other than the profile owner (assuming of course that they are genuine pics and not stolen - which again would be a criminal offence). |

Quite .....and its all about consent but swingers may be a good test case for any decent lawyer. |

Would be interesting for admin to comment on this. Pictures of women should not be on a single male profile (and vise versa) Is admin assuming consent is implied because they have uploaded the pic? Is this now covered by the new law. Any lawyers out there?? |

I believe the rules mention that if others are identifiable in the picture (other than the profile holder) that the picture is rejected.
This goes for fully clothed just as much as nude shots if I recall. |

Though this may appear a strange thing to say...I do sometimes wonder whether other people aren't identifiable but their houses are... I know it is a different and less intrusive matter, but there are loads of pics of people's profiles 'on their travels' that must surely give the location away...
I agree though that other people should not be identifiable in any way on photographs. |

From my understanding of the law, it will not be the site that is liable but the profile under which those images are posted. The site will be obliged under current statutes and warrants to divulge the details (email address, IP address, access logs) so that they can trace and determine beyond reasonable doubt that someone uploaded a picture that they should not have.... |

Valid point to make really.. only reason I found my sister on here (which was followed by a swift block and awkward conversations aftarwards) was because of her home decor that I recognized..
Im not sure about this "Revenge Porn" law but wouldnt this this waste more police time with investigation and tracking information? Surely they have other things they could be focusing on.. |
