Having just been informed that I would be better off meeting someone in my own Social Class I was wondering how anyone can tell this just by reading your profile?
Should one hide the Daily Mirror or keep a copy of The Times handy to be sure it is visible in one's avatar?

I was born in a working class family, and I had a working class profession for years, but now I have been informed that because I own multiple property's and work for myself I am middle class who is right me for saying I'm working class or two of my friends who insist that I have some how class levelled up |

That's about £200 grand worth of car.
P.S I had no idea of this before we met.

I'm underclass. Posh boys won't meet me in case i knife them or mug them.
Seriously, i'm a snob right, but a chavvy snob so although i do have standards, they don't rule anyone out unless they're a cunt. Have met loads of guys higher up than me class wise (it's not hard, almost everyone on here is) still had fun, been able to chat to them etc.
Can't believe someone said that to you, sounds like a right knobhead and i bet having sex with them is shit anyway. |

In the past I have had men say I'm classy. Act appropriately is my modus operandi. When in Rome etc. I'm working class,I like "posh boys",I like electricians,I like men with Masters degrees,PhDs,O Levels ,GCSEs,nothing but life skills. Class is irrelevant when you're in bed naked. |

I was always labelled the posh one with loads of money at school because we had a house with land etc. We were far from rich or posh but that was my friends impression but they loved sleep overs as they could ride a horse etc. I've met every class of people and I wouldn't say I'm in any particular social class presently.. |

Most of that list are almost universally derided for it though, certainly the yummy mummies, MIC and the Bullingdon Club. And Downton isn't just popular for the posh characters. And the Brit Pack actors have done well by being good actors, who happen to be from posh backgrounds, I don't think it's been the reason for their success.
On your original point, could I ask why you think it's funny so many people call themselves middle class? They're all outdated definitions anyway, but that's where I'd categorise most of the population. |

Its largely the same with the whole rap/hop hop scene, guys and women who LOVE to go on about where they came from, how they started with nothing, way way below the 'average' person, and now they have so much more after how heroically, defiantly they climbed the ladder of success to fame, riches and glory.

Really? Why do you think that bragging about your wealth, being covered in gold and jewels, top designer fashions and having a garage full of sports cars attached to your Beverley Hills mansion features so heavily at the top of the scene?

I've got music here by several hundred artists probably.....not one of them goes down that road.....

Alright fair enough, perhaps many hip hop musicians simply do it for the love of the music, and have little to no interest in the money and fame aspect of the business. Perhaps the reason why the kind of rappers I'm referring to become so commercial and well know is simply because they HAVE those huge, hungry egos and personas that demand attention and respect from those around them, and they choose music as a means to realise those goals, rather than simply for the love of a good beat. |

He asked them if they were working class. Their response was "no, we don't work".

I agree....many do 'sell out' (i would too....I ain't gonna hear the complaints from inside my soundproofed rolls royce) and stray into the popular charts...your snoops and dre's and fifty pences etc.. but to me.....they stray away into pop...rather than being true hip hop.....
I know what you mean when you site those particular artists you see in the charts these days, but money bitches and bling have never been and never will be one of the elements of hop hop....
Anyhow...that's me just getting defensive over my love of the music and steering the thread up a different path....
