I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of any marketing theory on now live music events/festivals use to market and promote before the use of Social media and the Internet? Many thanks ???? |

Music festivals used to put a full/double page advert in Melody Maker etc. You could send a cheque, and they'd send you a ticket. First come, first served. No middlemen, no problems. Simple. |

All I'd suggest is that Fab may not be the best place for you to do your research.

Btw...I'd be more interested in pre - Web and pre - social media advertising budgets because it would have been massive.
Yet they still had to make the event profitable.

There used to be a company called " out of hand " they used to employ people to give out flyers for up coming gigs in a pack, not sure if they are still going but it was quite a good way of marketing lots of events in one pack |
