Book club - Erotic books and discussions
Jump to: Newest in thread
Just been on holiday and instead of taking just the general best sellers to read while I sunbath on the beach I decided to take some Erotic novels.
I must admit that the book I had chosen surprised me and well written by the author. The books where:-
1) Black Stockings - by Emma Allan
2) The disciplinarian - by Emma Allan
3) Stockings and suspenders - by London Saint James
Book 1 & 2 where great stories but I did feel the ending was rushed and could of been better written
Book 3 was short stories often with the theme of Christmas but only 2 of the stories where good.
Has anyone else read these books like to comment or do you have other novels (forget fifty shades series as the writing was dreadful) which are good?

We have quite a library of erotic books some better than others, we also read quite a few free erotic novels on kindle. In my experience well written amateur erotic fiction is often better than professionally produced stuff. |

Will have a look through our kindles and bookshelves later. I assume you're familiar with a well known literary erotica site? |

Have a look for any written by Nancy Friday "
Women On Top opened my eyes when I was younger. I realised I was just naturally kinky and I may as well enjoy the fact. Took me over a decade to act on it though... |

"Will keep a close eye on this thread. I like to write too. "
If I can offer you one bit of advice I was told by my publisher - EDITOR,EDITOR and EDITOR.
Even if you self edit or self publish always pay for that second or third pair of eyes. It helps.
And it goes to say - marketing as well
My two best friends are Dictionary and Thesaurus.
But good luck and when you do publish tell me and I'll read it

" I don't think I'm anywhere near good enough for publication. It is more of a hobby really. I do find it flows easily when I write but so far have only attempted off the cuff short stories. I would love to be able to produce professional standard pieces though. I have posted a couple of stories on here. |

LL you are good enough. 50 shades of shite is just that - shit but she had a good team.
Your work will never be as bad as hers.
What you can do is find a group of beta readers to read a few sample chapters.
Anais Nin wrote many short stories and she is recognised as the greatest erotic writer of the 20th Century. You can eclipse her.
Always trust your words and let your characters guide you. A story will tell you where it wants to go. Trust yourself |

The East Is Black by Len Bracken (also sold as Stasi Slut by Anonymous) is a masterful piece of erotica.
Or, if you fancy something homegrown, take a look at the link at the end of our profile! |
