Well we are well into april and the easter holidays have not been my friend. However a couple more lbs have gone I think I'm 49.5lbs down now.

Decided 8st 10 is my goal which will be a 4 stone total loss. And means ive got about half a stone left to lose.

One more week of easter holidays left then I can get back in the gym!

Hope everyone is still doing well whatever your goals!!

128lb down with about 35lb to go.

I can really see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I want to be a comfortable 12\14 and 10stone.

I think I'd be more than happy with that seeings at my very heaviest I was 22 1\2 stone

I do ofcourse do more bicep works in the gym but just those 2 I do at home

I think because to gain a decent amount of muscle you will inevitably also gain fat. So bulking is building it all up then you cut to lose the excess fat and get left with the muscle x

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Back on the 5:2 today, and back to the exercise classes. An absolutely brutal abs blast class after 30 mins intervals on the elliptical. I won't be coughing or laughing tomorrow!

I've lost 25lbs since I started in January, and am aiming for a further stone off to get to a healthy BMI (I know, I know, but I'd like to see if its possible with my body frame size). It's bloody hard work though, with all this food just lying around.

I'm feeling positive and achy... Achy as started to add more variety to my workout and a 10lb loss in 3 weeks including enjoying my Easter break.

Not sure if it's a national thing but for those on weight watchers or slimming world. I signed up to my gym for swim for health. And being a member of weight watchers means its 20quid for 6 weeks unlimited swimming and aqua classes..

I'm finding it great and loving aqua jog... Being that I have problems with my back and joints this is fantastic. I feel like I have lost more weight this week as clothes are just fitting Better but avoiding the scales to weigh in early.

Next goal - one class or exercise session every day next week. An hour an evening should be doable.

It's going to kill me as I'm rather unfit and as I have arthritis in my joints I know I'll be in agony tomorrow but will be worth it in the long term as losing weight can only be a good thing

I still seem to be making some slight strength gains in spite of having been cutting now for 2 months.

Still...

170lbs as of today, I reckon about 5lbs to go and I'll be back to about 10%BF and may think about starting a new program.

I wish it would hurry up though because I like carbs.

Don't use the Smith for squats use a free bar the Smith fucks up your form.

Oh and try weighted lunges for your bum that'll burn it good lol.

Especially if you go down half way then to the bottom then back to half way then bottom half way about 5 times before comming fully baxk up.

Yes it is annoying! They've just put plans for a complete renovation on and you csn go online and make suggestions! I've been on and told them that not having a squat rack or a bar to do deads with its just ridiculous! It's so small that sometimes you can't use one piece of equipment cuz you'll be totally in the way of others. The only free weights there are are dumbells. There's only one other gym in my town and it's only open a few hours a day but come September if the one im at now hasn't improved I'll be off!!!

"Well my workout went well although 3 sets of 15 @85kg on the leg press has destroyed my bum! I can press heavier but I wanted to get higher reps so lowered the weight a bit (from 100kg) I really wanted to get some squats in today but someone was hogging the smith machine im going to just train legs on Thursday...

My regular gym only has a Smith and a leg press machine.

This has now angered me so much I go to another gym on the way home from work that has a proper squat rack....

No bar whatsoever?

Is that even a gym?

Does anyone there even lift?

No it's mostly meatheads with huge arms and massive necks and tiny little legs... I wonder how their legs hold their bodies up sometimes they look lol caricatures.. They definitely always skip leg day "

I always love how blokes come in and demonstrate how a bicep curl can be a full body exercise.

People let their egos get in their way way too much at the gym.

The right weight is the weight you can loft right.

"Well we are well into april and the easter holidays have not been my friend.

well done! I'm 2lb off target....fingers crossed for tomorrow nights weigh in

"I have my first PT session tonight. It's called rider fit (for horse riders) but also includes some insanity. It's going to kill me as I'm rather unfit and as I have arthritis in my joints I know I'll be in agony tomorrow but will be worth it in the long term as losing weight can only be a good thing

Not of you do damage to your joints it won't be. You spoken to the doctor about excerise in relation to the arthritis."

Hiya. Yes I've spoken to my doctor and rheumatologist and both have said to do it as I need to strengthen my body back up again.

Most of the work I'll be doing is core based but the added insanity is to help lose weight. It'll take some time but im determined to do it x

Try powerhouse they are quite cheap bought a cage, with hi/lo pulley (90kg) whole load of bars , two new 25kg plates and bench . Under a grand ( so two years membership.)

Question thou anybody used one of the shrug bars? Thinking I might get one for dead lifts

We are using Rosemary Conley recipes and the little pot measures give the discipline. As the medics said yesterday it's not the exercise that makes the weight loss though of course it tones you up, it's the less calorie intake that loses the weight and it sure works for us.

Yep, weight loss happens in the kitchen, although a good exercise regime does mean the cupcake won't spend a WHOLE lifetime on the hips.

Yeah used plates only seem to come up when someone moving or leaving the country and need to dump them quick they tend to go for the same as new though really.

Racks pop up fairly often when someone realises they bought them and never use them lol

Tins of makeral are cheaper :p

Myprotien buy a tastey whey or the total protien (it's a blend of whey and egg and casein and a few others so useful for most times but tastes not as good) don't get the stevia flavours I did and now I got 5kg of the awful shit to get through lol.

Peotien shake is really just for when you cba eating or for that 30 minute window straight after exercise a good solid meal after is good.

My favorite post work out "shake" is a liter carton of tesco chocolate milk lol 100g sugar and 45g protien all for 1 pound

I'm exactly the same, have restarted as of last week and I'm now at 1 stone 10 lbs down, with 1.5 stone of that having been lost by the end of February. Pigged out in March and April, and I plan to suffer for it in May and June to try to get to 3 stone down.

I need to push past this stage because I actually look fatter than I did before, as all the weight I've lost has come off my boobs, bum, hips and legs but not my waist so my hip to waist ratio is all to pot Trying to add more exercise into the mix to shift the beer belly (which isn't even beer because I'm off the booze )

I need to push past this stage because I actually look fatter than I did before, as all the weight I've lost has come off my boobs, bum, hips and legs but not my waist so my hip to waist ratio is all to pot Trying to add more exercise into the mix to shift the beer belly (which isn't even beer because I'm off the booze )"

unfortunately you cant spot reduce fat

its the same for everyone. the places you most wanna lose fat are usually the last places you lose it from. its why consistency is the most important thing

unless you wanna get lipo

Oh I know, (I wish I could) but in the past I've found when I've strengthened my core I carry myself better and look slimmer as a result, even if I'm actually not. And once I've got past a certain point (prob 3 stone ish for me) it will eventually start to shift off there.

Still going!!

No weight on or off last couple of weeks but only 5lbs till target now so it's hard going. Once I'm back at work the week after next I'll not be able to pick in the day so it should come off then!! A constant battle with a sweet tooth is my main issue!!!

Much of that will be water weight make sure you're drinking enough (you actually get a fair bit of water from food so altering diet can mean you need to drink more to compensate)

But don't try to keep that level of loss up for long it's way to much aim for max of 2.2lb (1kg) a week.

If you just want protein. The cheapest one that doesn't taste like crap lol.

Have a look on myprotein or bulkpowders avoid the "sativa" flavours they're not great.

Assuming this is for after work out not just to keep you feeling full?

If so get the whey, if you just want it for keeping you feeling full get casein it's cheaper but takes longer to digest so fuller for longer, but less effective post workout.

To help my core I sit on a gym ball at work. As you say I carry myself better, my posture is better and i feel better for it. No more back ache plus work my core while i'm sitting down at my desk.

My protien's total protien blend is what you want then.

A blend of whey, casein, egg, and flaxseed and some added glutamine.

have a look through the reviews for a good flavour (unflavoured is awful) or try a few of the sample sachets.

It's a mixture of fast and slow release proteins. So good for everything really.

It's not the nutritional info on the site lol.

For a 60g serving though it's

1.8g fat

2.6g carbs

46g protien.

If you want to make it into a mass gainer style thing chuck in a scoop or two of instant oats.

Best way I've found for using shakes is.

Milk+fruit+protein in the blender and have it as a decent smoothie.

"Cals would be 224 kcal per 60g serving sorry forgot that.

That's the nutritional information for 60g of total protein on its own.

for working out cals etc.

1g protien =4 kcal

1g fat = 9 kcal

1g carbs = 4 kcal

Basically you get twice a much food for your calories if you eat protein and carbs. Fat has more than double the amount of cals per gram.

What don't you understand sorry?

The nutritional info for the total protien is on the page where you buy it bur just in general

1 gram of carbs (sugar starch etc) is worth 4 kcalories

1 gram protien is all so 4

But 1 gram fat is 9 cals.

So say you ate 10g protien, and 10 g cars

that would be 80 calories.

But 10g of fat would be 90 calories

It's okay to have time off as the body needs time for rest and recovery, though I'm not sure about the rubbish food.

Anymore than a week of the saddle and things may start to get a little difficult once you're back training and can often feel like you're a beginner. For motivation, focus on why you started in the first place. -Mr.

As you lose weight you need less calories to maintain your weight.

(Yes fat actually takes calories to keep alive)

Recalculate your calorie requirements for your new weight you may need to drop them again

WW automatically recalculates your daily allowance as you lose weight, so I'm still at a bit of a loss.

I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and reassess in a couple of weeks if it continues.

I'm reasonably happy with the weight I am now (it's just 5 lb short of what I set as my target) and I'm a damn sight fitter than I was...although the 10 degree, quarter of a mile climb at the end of today's ride would claim otherwise!
