Is it this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPgS7p40ERg
Found it pretty funny tbh, even though i don't usually like parties slagging off their opponents. Gotta laugh, these clowns don't care about us else we'd have progressed so much more as a society by now. We progressed a lot in the 40s-70s and then it slowed down loads and things are going backwards since the coalition have got in.
She made sense at the end, actually went on about policies that i agree with. |

The more i watch it the funnier it gets.
Nigels pint and Lib guy singing "i love the coalition" hahaha...
We're socialists by nature, how many people really agree with people profitting from others being ill and people making a private profit from public services hat we pay taxes to run? How many people would really see just one person die of starvation or allow that if they had the power not to? etc... |

We are a socialist society right now, but we're propping up things that that don't need propping up with taxes at the expense of everyone else because those with more feel entitled to be more privileged than everyone else.

Our is a conservative council, my council tax has gone up 400%, would have loved just a 5% rise instead...
And last time someone mentioned the above i did ask and nobody replied, probably coz they haven't got all the info despite bringing it up. |

"Ours in conservative too and ours has gone up 2% ... Are you sure yours has gone up 400% ?"
Yes. 2 years ago it was £55, i had to pay an extra £176 this year (so bit over 3 times the amount) and this year it's about the same, not sure the exact amount as i don't pay it until the last minute.
Don't suppose you know anything about the bin strike? The person who brought it up doesn't want to give me info about it. |

Perhaps they are using the same calculator that the Tories used last week when Grant Shapps tried to say that Labour would increase taxes by an average of £3000 per family...as opposed to the actual figure of £100. |

The Green are just Tories on bikes, they spout policies like nationalisation they know they'll never implement, they know Daddies in charge really, and quite happy they are to save them from their selves and wait for their inheritance.
Most would be fox-hunting if it were still legal. |

Hello, i gave my info and don't know why people are taking the piss still? Fact my taxes went up a shit load and my income didn't.
Thanks whoever said to google the papers, i will do and find out why the strikes happened, and at least people still have the right to strike of not happy with job conditions and we haven't gone back to the victorian/undustrial era where you have no work rights. |

Jesus, read through a few newspaper reports, they don't have drivel on and not give any proper info or links to any, found this instead and it was most helpful: http://www.brightonhovegreens.org/factsheets/bin-strike-and-equal-pay-factsheet.html
It was to do with making pay more equal between genders, and surprise surpirse the poorest paid were going to get a wage cut. Seems the greens might be tories after all. |

Just an expression, the whole party by and large has nothing else to do, their whole think tank went into making this broadcast. It was a extremely poor amateur production that would embarrass the Harrogate WI.
Really their policies should say, wouldn't it be nice if half the population would die, so we could have a bigger garden.

One year, from one year to the next it went up that much. Probably because i paid it the year before. I know how these things work, if you actually pay all your taxes they charge you more next time. Not bothered, have covered my ass and got someone else to pay last years for me, almost glad about it sometimes because i'm now into other people paying for my stuff and am doing more of that.

I'm assuming that's not the actual council tax, that's the reduced rate. When council tax benefit was centralised there were people who didn't pay at all, since it was localised (and the funding significantly cut), councils set their own levels and nearly everyone has to pay something, which could be 5% or 10% of the bill...so it could be that which has gone up, possibly linked to demonstrated ability to pay.
No council has raised its proper council tax above 2% for a couple of years since Eric Pickles introduced the need to hold an expensive referendum if they wanted to go over that threshold. |

You get taken to court for non-payment, i've been arrested for non-payment before before but luckily got £8000 just before the court date so could pay it off. You could make arrangements to pay it off a bit at a time, they'd be happy with that so long as they get their money.
Might not be 400%, £55 is 100% so add 3 times that amount and it's 400% i think? I gave the amounts of money, was £55 2 years ago, to £55 + £176 last year, then this years bill i stuffed it somewhere coz i can't be bothered with it right now but it's over £200 this year, think it was £230. |

This article says the council tax in Chorley has been frozen for three years .... so if yours has gone up 400% it isn't because the council tax has gone up.

I am guessing you get a discount for whatever reason as the CT for your area is way above what you are paying. It sounds like whatever discount they were awarding you has gone up more than the CT rising by 400%
Your council had a price freeze last year and they are rising it 2% this year. |

I'm not disputing that what you pay has gone up that much, and obviously I know nothing about your financial circumstances or ability to pay, but that's not the full rate you're paying, sounds more like 10%. That's based on a decision the council has taken about how much people who would previously have been receiving council tax benefit for the full amount now have to contribute - and that's gone up annually for the past few years in just about every council whatever political control, because the funding from central government was reduced.
For councils setting their actual council tax (which is 'set' at a Band D level, with the other bands in fixed multiples of that) no council has raised its council tax by more than 3.5% in 2012/13 or 2% in all the financial years since then. |

And that increase won't actually be a decision they've taken about you specifically, it'll be that the minimum rate people have to contribute has gone from 4% to 9% or whatever. |

Like i said, it went up 400% for me. Doesn't matter if the council froze anything, they didn't freeze it for me at all.
Not arsed any more, as a low paid worker i'm used to having the piss took out of me financially.
I am guessing you get a discount for whatever reason as the CT for your area is way above what you are paying. It sounds like whatever discount they were awarding you has gone up more than the CT rising by 400%
Your council had a price freeze last year and they are rising it 2% this year.
Like i said, it went up 400% for me. Doesn't matter if the council froze anything, they didn't freeze it for me at all.
Not arsed any more, as a low paid worker i'm used to having the piss took out of me financially. Was nice being able to afford a holiday for all my hard work, this year i've put 0 effort into my job and concentrated on other stuff instead. There's no sense of pride in working for fuck all and being made poorer in the process.
I have to admit I don't understand any of this, but can I take a guess.

My post a few back up probably explains it I think |

Nope, they just keep putting my council tax up because they can, despite it being frozen apparently.
About eleven years ago i got arrested (in front of all my kids) for non-payment of council tax, they made a court date and i paid just before i got to court, took my receipts in as proof of payment and they dismissed it as i hadn't broken any law by the time i was officially accused. No court costs to pay or anything as i was a law abiding citizen by the time it got to court. |

"And that increase won't actually be a decision they've taken about you specifically, it'll be that the minimum rate people have to contribute has gone from 4% to 9% or whatever. "
Yeah possibly, i know like £200+ seems like nothing but that's my holiday gone this year, i was already going at the cheap time during school being open to afford it before. Especially like the cost of everything is going up as well. Oh well, just gonna suck it up, moan about it occasionally, try and find ways around stuff and everything'll be alright. |

It does actually, wasn't aware of that, I fortunate enough to have to pay 100% of mine. |

Now I get your problem, you are right £200 isn't that much if you've got it, I have been in that position and do understand, hope things get better for you. |

Thanks, they will do i'm sure but don't know when. I've been really unproactive this year and need to get out of that really and start finding ways that make sure we don't go without, just to set a good example to my kids really so they don't think you're supposed to go without. At least i haven't had to go without food yet, don't think i could cope with that. |

No I didn't, but I know people on 100K+ a year and actually they do fuck all except widen the trade gap, so who can you trust? |

Feel free to ask my employer for a rise for me? And ask my shitty ex to pay for his kids while your at it, or change the law so it forces him to pay. Both these would help.
Any other advice to improve my lot or are you just bashing people on benefits coz it's ok to do that?

"You make it sound like we have anything to fight him with anyway.
Or that the reason Rissia is a threat isn't 100% our own fault for provoking them for the last 25 years."
We do currently have 4 nuclear subs, which the greens and the SNP want to get rid of. Also how have we provoked russia for the last 25 years, they seem to be provoking us with their fly-bys in British air-space in recent months. |

"ask the people of brighton how well the greens have worked for then...strikes rubbish on streets and rate rises of over 5% ....but got it capped.....a racing cert to loose the seat."
The Greens have a minority council in Brighton where Labour and Tories have worked together to vote down many issues in order to undermine the Greens.
The blame for the council's issues are far from being the sole responsibility of the Greens.
I thought the video was fun, not a great deal of substance but it was the most interesting and catchy PPB I've ever seen.
If Ed Miliband looked like the actor who played him I might be tempted to vote for him. Ha! |
