K often says something similar, I say a pulse would be useful but it's an optional extra lol |

"Hm, ok...I know a profile can say so much, but not everyone will make the assumption it says everything...
It seems a reaonable question to me???"
I get asked the question.... I do not think it is a reasonable question. If they haven't got a pretty good idea after reading my profile then I really don't know what more I can say without a more specific question. |

"My profile states clearly what I'm looking for. If the question is asked I just delete without replying...can't be dealing with it! " I sometimes like to toy with them first if i am in that type of mood |

so you assume everyones profile is as concise as yours then? or do you assume that everyone writing to you will know which profiles are and arent written to completion?
what you want from one person is not necessarily what you want from another so a profile will only do so much directing...in some instances it does very little |

"The other one is when I ask someone
'Tell me about yourself'
and they come back with
'What do you want to know'"
I reply "what do you want to know" when people ask "tell me about yourself"... because it's a lazy-arsed question in my book.
Do I repeat what is on my profile?
Do I start from the day I was born?
Do I tell them what subjects I liked at school?
What car I drive and what cars I have owned? What?
I could be writing the reply for weeks and still not told them anything they wanted to know. |

But they are usually from guys who have nothing in the profile anyway.
If they have a decent profile, I don't need to ask the question do I????? |

Quite agree - it is a turn off question - I try and respond to most emails but find the above versions a bit tedious. |
