If you pass your test and send off your pass certificate, can you go and test drive a car or buy it before licence comes back?

Or do you keep pass certificate to buy then post it off.

id say yes u can,but check the Dvla web site to make sure.

if u have passed your test it will be on computer records so you should be good to go

You don't need a license to buy a car.

As long as you've passed your test and the test centre has had time to submit your data to the DVLA (probably about 10 mins after you've passed) you're good to go.

They will ask for id like passport and a utility bill or bank statement. You can buy a car on your provisional licence. But as above you will need to insure it to drive it away

you dont need a licenece to buy a car anybody can buy a car .

but to drive it away you need a licence

I have never had to show anything to buy insurance.

I did that but I got no discount !! Mind you it was on the internet I bought it so I am guessing the only one enjoying the flashing was Mr ruggers

A lot of garages give 24hour drive home insurance but you may have to pay for that being a newbie

Look at Hyundai they give insurance and 5 year warranty and very reasonable prices for a good car
