What would happen to our country IF

Labour
Conservatives (+UKIP for argument sake)
and
Plaid Cymru + SNP + Greens joined up?
The question is, how could government work with opposition being so available. No out right party would be able to pass any legislation through the house if it became a 3 party state like the above?
Especially with such diverse views on how the economy, defence, NHS (potential Barnet formula) and spending, it would mean legislation would be vetoed constantly? A possible recession due to a seeming 'lack of an economic plan' ? |

I am no political genius, so why hasn't Dimbleby, Paxman, Andrew Neil, Marr, or other TV news person thrown this out as a national debate? A recession due to lack of a coherent government is a bit of a disaster!
Would we get to vote again? |

Not been asked as it's an unlikely scenario. Perhaps a look at a 'similar' experience in Belgium could help you gain an insight.

They say that, but if ukip can get them in via a coalition, they'd change their tune. I can see a problem like this on the horizon. The big 3 have disillusioned so many, I know 3 people through online forums that say they're voting plaid. Doesn't seem a lot, but most people don't know one person who votes for a minority party

 First I have read on that ... I don't know much about the strength of their economy either.. but 6 months after a 5 party system was introduced to it's collapse is no good. |

we cant vote for Plaid Cymru + SNP and DUP unless we live in Wales, Scotland or Ireland I thought.
In either case ... I am more in fear of the turmoil a squabbling government will cause. At the moment they are squabbling over political point scoring. But once voted in, I dont like the prospect of veto powers that could destabilise the economy when we are at least out of recession. That would be nightareish, all because off political disillusion. |

Government could work better as rather than a one party bias, all decisions would need to be considered and agreed. I think it's a mistake that parties are campaigning on the basis of winning a majority and being dismissive of making allegiances - after this election I expect that will change and we should start to see a move away from two party politics. |

But in macro economics; where markets rule our AAA rating, our bankability or our credit rating. All we need is a little turbulence, wavering or an unknowing from other countries in not knowing where they stand if they are regain lent money - and our score depreciates... we dip into recession. I think that is how it works.. in a simple way at least?
Take us not releasing if we are going to spend this 2%GDP on defence in line with our NATO agreement - NATO is looking at us for the party line |

Them v Us makes for simplicity. I think politicians are scared that the alternative is too complex for voters and it probably is for many who have been brought up red or blue rather than having to consider actual policies. |
