Has anyone ever come across this b****y thing? It seems to a virus/trojan thing and tells you you have loads of problems with your system. When you click on "remove" it goes straight to a page that demands payment to operate the system Whatever I try, I can`t get rid of the b****y thing and it keeps telling me I have 37 different problems when Microsoft Security Essentials says there`s nothing wrong. I`m inclined to believe the Microsoft thing this time! |

It`s driving me mad! It`s something I clicked on by mistake as I thought it was the MS system kicking in. If I had been visiting dodgy sex sites, then I can really moan but it wasn`t anything like that at all. |

"SuperAntiSpyware will sort it out if you get it quick, if not its a headache to remove as it gets worse.
FFS! It`s telling me that S.A.S. is infected! "
Looks likes you’ve left it too late, google rkill and stick rkill on a pen drive, you will have to run rkill to kill its process, after that just run SAS, or you can also download the portable version of SAS and rename it explorer.exe before running. |

Bloody marvellous program is that! I've just downloaded, installed and run it and it found 371 spybots on my system. |

"i had the same thing, but the way i got rid of it was to compress it and zip it and transfered it to microsoft, let them buggers sort it out, lol,,
what is rkill"
Its a little portable tool designed by a microsoft mvp that kills any active malware processes that are running, until you stop them running the best AV or malware programs in the world are useless as the security tool disables them all or stops them from running. |

Best to download using another PC and sticking it on a pen drive, wouldn't recommend using your pc or being connected to the interent if you have malware running. |

I had the same problem, no idea where it came from, proper pain in the a*** though. Spybot, Ad aware and Avast wouldn't touch it, i ended up resetting to factory settings. |

Had to remove it from my sons pc just this weekend.
Its a backdoor trojan which will disable a load of your stuff, Using the search function type in security tool and see where it has located itself. On my sons it was in C/Users/sons name/local etc which was a hidden folder.
Here's how I got rid of it - Ensure you change the settings to allow you to _iew hidden folders then reboot the PC in safe mode, go to the folder location where security tool has installed its self (the file name on ours was 5 numbers)and delete the file. Restart the pc in normal mode and it should have disappeared, run a virus and spyware check just as a good measure.
If you have any problems with any of these steps send me a mail and I'll help you further.

Thanks for the replys I think I may be lucky in that it appears that the MS sytem I have has disabled it. While it isn`t popping up everywhere, I`ll see if I can find it and delete! |

All trojans and Viruses have different capabilities so there is no one specific solution that will cover all of them. The majority will also infect the system restore so in many cases that can be pointless as it will simply return again and again.
Ive always been a big advocate of backing up precious photos/data/passwords etc and, if all else fails, reformat the whole pc. Drastic maybe but when some Anti-spyware take 12 or more hours to do a deep scan/remove and a re-install takes 6 hours ( ish ),,,which is the better option?
Try a programme called `Stinger` from nai associates,,, |

"Woooooo Hooooooo! It`s gone!
Did you try the Stinger btw?"
No. The MS system I have installed removed it. But sadly it looks like it was too late. Had a phone call from the fraud section of my bank. Apparently, in the small hours of this morning, 5 attempts were made to pay for £170s worth of video games, the fifth attempt being successfull. At least the systems in the bank picked this up and I will be re-embursed for the money that was taken out! |
