I know I do.. I take things to heart to much.
It can at times be annoying and I can hear myself and wish that there was a rewind and mute button..
So are you??? and has anyone truly overcome it.? |

I can usually know fairly quickly what my opinion is on something - I may be open to debate or persuasion.
I will never understand most people and their interests or motivations, but that's fine, I can focus on my own and people who are important to me.
Most stuff is trivial, so no need to be bothered by it. I spend time thinking about my studies and medical developments and potential. Otherwise, it's time for fun.
If ever perplexed, some yoga or meditation is always a better use of my time and energy. |

Geez I suffer from over thinking all the time... I play countless scenarios when in reality the issue is not even there most of the time look in hindsight... I have had sleepless nights overthinking matters. |

I am. Absolutely. By the time I've taken an innocent situation put my own perception on it, over analysed it and played it out in my head over and over again it bears no resemblance to it's origin!
I have black and white thinking and don't seem to see the grey areas. After CBT therapy a few years ago I learnt that my perceptions are often distorted. It allowed me to see things for what they really were and not what I was making them to be. It helped me loads. I'm still guilty of overthinking, but I tend to be more practical and logical about it now and can be objective to my own thought process. |

Yes i am.
I overcame it by studying many different sciences as well as philosophy. There are some really interesting things to over think about in these fields and they'll absorb plenty of your time, will be hard finding other people to talk about this stuff with but you can find them. |

"Seems to mostly be ladies... Is it a woman thing you think ? "
No. Men don't vocalist it in quite the same way but the threads where men say that people haven't deleted mail that they've sent and asking what this means indicates an overthinker to me. |

Years ago I used to be when in chatrooms but I started using the yahoo fightrooms they used to have and now I couldn't care less what someone says to me or thinks of me online.
I'm myself and if someone don't like it then tough |

I used to be a major over thinker, i have found life so much easier and healthier since learning too not dwell on things or wonder what if or why, 9 times out of 10 it is paranoia and on the rare occasion it isn't , what does over thinking it change, now i am so laid back i am horizontal.. ooh anybody want too take advantage of that. |

They say women spend more time thinking about what men think than men actually spend thinking!
I am a thinker for sure, but I feel most of the time that is a benefit, maybe you can only 'over think' if you are dwelling on something negative?

I might over think a situation to try and find the best solution, but if I find myself over thinking things that don't matter, I realise I'm stressed about something. |

I am guilty of overthinking at times - and usually it is one of my friends who will tell me to stop this "analysis to paralysis" nonsense. It is probably a bit down to up bringing - my parents always told me to think before acting! |

This is something I'm really bad for BUT.... I'm normally right and if it doesn't feel right it normally isn't, I've had some clangers that I've not seen coming but on the whole I'm normally right. Doesn't make me turn and run when I should though which is a shame!! |

Yep over think everything, every decision has to be thought over and the dozens of possible outcomes.
Drives jools crazy. |

Wow thanks for all the replies..
I sometimes can hear the panic and the illogical arguments I make to myself and others. They are legitimate reasons to me... But I can hear it and the inner logical person is crying out to shhh me xx
