Showtime (The network that were going to make it) have pulled the plug... it's over.

Apparently David Lynch has been in contact with the cast and let them know

Yeah saw that on Twitter - very disappointing news was looking forward to that!

It's the 25th anniversary in a few days too - I wonder if another network will pick it up?

I am equal amounts of gutted and relieved. What if they'd fucked it up? And what if they hadn't?

I don't think they would have fucked it up, it went off the rails a bit in series 2 when Lynch and Frost left, then picked up again when they returned - I know sometimes the best advice is 'never go back' this would have been the chance to conclude the story properly without the mish mash of 'Fire Walk With Me'

My heart agrees with all of that. My head tells me to remember the lesson I learned from The Phantom Menace and Prometheus...

ok, quick update... it hasn't be scrapped, just that David Lynch is leaving. He posted a statement on his twitter saying:

"Dear Twitter Friends, Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks. After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done. This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing. Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime. I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently."

Showtime still want David Lynch and Mark Frost to be involved, but it doesn't look likely at the moment.

Whaat? That's a shame, it won't be the same without her...

On one hand I'm stupidly excited about the whole new series, on the other hand part of me is thinking 'never go back' ...

Even more so without Mr Lynch.

He's back on board and fully involved again! The original series went off the rails when he left for sure!
