I watched a very interesting documentary on BBC2 tonight about the Strangeways Prison riot. 25 years ago today it happened. I was only 14 around the time, but i can remember the pictures of some of the inmates hanging out of that big tower wearing balaclavas...... Overcrowding was one of the reasons for the riot, and prisons today are still over crowded. Lessons haven't been learnt unfortunately

As an ex prison worker, although I kinda agree with trying to rehabilitate inmates, i also think that some folk just can't be rehabilited and will end up in prison for the rest of their lives. I'm all for building extra prisons to keep those wankers inside seeing as I can't go for the death penalty because there's no way of sorting that out should a miscarriage of justice occur
