I'm new to this site but I seem to be getting a lot of requests to meet. From single women and the married ones that love a rugged man with a beard... I'm bot a geography teacher look ( sorry to any geography teachers ) I look more like a rock roadie. But is it just a few ladies out there that like beards or is there more. |

I don't particularly like the bearded look but considering giving it a go if you've been here only 3 weeks and already had lots of requests from married and single women!
I think beards can look ok and distinguished on guys mid to late 30s and above, but big bushy beards on guys in their early 20s (which inexplicably seems to suddenly be all en vogue in the last year or so) can really age them and (just a personal preference) I don't like them. It's all a passing fad I think, give it a year when a new trend comes in and most of the beards will have gone.
But each to their own and I'm sure there are loads of ladies who love the look! |

Second time I've seen beards referred to as a fad or trend. I've been sporting a beard on and off for 20 years! More recently it's gone white so i tend to keep clean shaven now lol. |

Surely you can't deny there are loads more beards out there right now, these funky hipsters all of a sudden sporting a big luxurious growth?
Yes of course people have had beards throughout the ages, the fad I'm referring to are all the trendy fashionistas that have recently jumped on the bandwagon as it's the current 'in-thing'? |

I've had mine about 4 years now! Since working in the Middle East... Mines quiet a big beard but looked after and trimmed by a barber when I get home. But while I'm away it's left to grow feral |

Don't you think, like anything , they suit some people and not others? Generally , I like them, however not the Grizzly Adams wild out of control ones. I prefer neat and trimmed.
My ex's Aunt has one - that did freak me out slightly when she hugged me on the first day I met her. |

All beards need to pass the thigh test.... if it softly brushes over your thigh sending amazing sensations to places you never knew existed that's fine,
But if it feels like a hedgehog crawling up your inner thigh no thanks
Conditioner is the way to go |

"I think the beard haters are the feminist types who can't grow one lol "
Oh I can grow one.
But I don't want to.
A) I don't like them
B) my face itches like hell in a handbasket if I get beyond the rough stubble stage.
C) it wouldn't look good on me at all. I really don't have the face for it. |

There are beards and there are beards. Some look like they should be an extra on Sons of Anarchy, others look like they should be in the Confederate's army.
I like a nice trim George V beard on a chap. Not something that looks as if it is having a party |

Why is it a problem for people when someone grows a beard? Even if it's fashion it's just a beard. Previously I used to think lazy men grew beards,or Navy men. I like a beard,on any aged MAN. |

Used to have an impressive beard years ago...half way down my chest, nine or ten inches...
I would get ripped for it, that was before they became fashionable.
Had it shaved years ago and wouldn't have one back now, there's that many about now, often coupled with that stupid foppish haircut, that I don't think I'd want to be seen as a crowd follower.
That plus the fact they're a pain to maintain, washing, conditioning brushing daily.....nah, not any more thanks.

Unmaintained ones are lazy. The ones that aren't trimmed, years ago there were lots of men who had beards just because they didn't like shaving. |

The hair on my head I blame genes and nature for...they conspired to make me bald, so I took the satisfaction from them and did it myself with clippers |

In answer to your question posed in the title of this thread...its neither. Its just a bit of hair some decide to grow, some not, it means nothing |

Not really into the whole smooth look... But at the end of the day is the person that matters most to me , so I wouldn't not meet because you didn't have facial hair |

Some guys look nicer, to me, with a close-cut beard. But I am not going to get intimate with any guy sporting facial hair. It just rubs against my skin and I end with a scratched red face |

Some of us still don't. My skin is to sensitive to shave every day.
I'm lucky I don't need to for work.
But I like having a beard sometimes, until it's gets really itchy then it's just gotta go..... |

I'd love to be allowed one. Unfortunately, companies refuse to catch up with the times and think all their male employees would go around looking like ZZ Top so refuse anything but clean shaven. It suits me too. Just a bit of groomed growth. |

Beards are great however you should only own one if you have then skills to back it up.
A prerequisite would be to be able to build your own log cabin and then adopt an orphan bear and tame it to do your bidding.
Wearing skinny jeans and clutching a frappamochachoca whilst sporting a carefully groomed hipster beard is not the way.

So what have I learnt about these Forums over the last few days?
Well it's fair game to criticise marrieds, barebackers, those of a particular political persuasion, politicians, TV presenters, the price of cheese etc etc but whatever you don't critique or express anything other than a positive view on the man bun. Ever.
We should name this day, 'Man-bungate' anyone?

Had mine 3 months and it's coming off tomorrow (barber shave booked). Growing one was on my list of things to do after 20 years in the army, but I'm fed up of finding myself fiddling with it: which I put down to feeling a little like "feeding the pony"
Next on the list "grow long hair" |

I prefer hair on a man to one who shaves his head for the sake of it. If you have hair do something interesting with it I say, don't just shave it off. Some men would give their right arm for a full head of hair |
