Miss about childhood
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'm sure we all miss certain things from when we were younger
I miss
Disco's in village halls
Boys will very long hair
Sundays without shopping
Policemen always on the beat
Streets free of mcds rubbish
Penny Sweeties
And so much more
What do you miss about your childhood years? |

Still get scraps at ours
For me I think it's the fact that my kids can't enjoy the freedom we did as kids.
Being let out at 8am and not being home till dark, tree houses, rope swings, catching Sticklebacks, newts, etc. |

"Aztec and Marathon bars, barber shops with adverts for Durex ('better for both') and Top of the Pops in the 1980s !
We both have a soft spot for American Tan tights, too - weird, eh? X"
Loved American tan tights lol |

With ya on that, we don't have kids but would love them to experience childhood like that. I loved all that stuff as a squirt, come home covered in scrapes, bumbs and bruises but no real damage and with a bucket full of frogs |

I think it's because they were all you saw in the 1970s and the first part of the 1980s - it was Lady Di that brought in the fashion for pale Dior tights, B reckons! It's nostalgia and sexiness in equal measure, LOL! |

I miss my dad. He used to take us out while my mum stayed home with my disabled sister. He was such a lovely man, didn't say much in general but loved taking us on days out. I miss spending days in the garden with my best friend, having picnics, and sitting on her doorstep playing jacks and drawing hopscotch on the pavement. I miss Christmas eve with my brother and sisters, being in bed talking excitedly about Father Christmas coming. I miss helping my mum spring clean and shopping with her. I miss my pain free slim body. |

My grandchildren do this now
They're not encouraged to stay in to watch TV or video games
Far healthier to be out mixing with others |

Monkey bars.
Playing at the park until the street lights came on- then I'd have to go home.
Making dens in the woods.
Getting excited when a hedgehog or frog found its way into our garden.
Having my meals made for me, even though I enjoy cooking, it would be nice for someone else too occasionally.

One big thing that we might all remember with pleasure, possibly - the adventure of discovering sex for the first time: you know, the innocent fumblings and sexy fantasies that developed into how we seduced or wanted to be seduced!
There's only one thing that can match that first dawn of an erotic mind, and that's discovering how much fun you can have when swinging and meeting sexy people whose imagination meets with your own...

"Oh god, my first time was so painful! And just awful. Didn't know what the hell to do and just lay there.. "
It can often be like that, sadly - but just look at you now, all confident and sexy!
Have you noticed that first meets in swinging can be awkward - there's a bit of timidness, until someone makes the first move and then the barriers(and the underwear) come down xxx |

Finding jazz mags at the allotments or behind the garages where blokes had stashed them away from the wife. Kids of today will probably never have that pleasure, but then again with the proliferation of Internet porn nor do they need to rely on a lucky mag find. |

Oh yeah, going on proper adventures down the glen, you know like the Goonies!?!? Admitedly there were no pirate ships round my way but the characters were all there... The drama, the excitement, the smart one, the goofy one, the scary family with something locked in the cellar... Fun times! |

We had a gang comprising of boys and girls aged from 8-15. We used to ride to the country park on our bikes, take picnics to the park and have It's a Knockout style competitions in our back garden. On hot days we would take sandwiches and juice to the Lido and spend all day there. There was never any trouble or arguments between us or other kids. |

Proper HOT summers, when you would leave your house in the morning and not come back till teatime ( then back out till it got dark). We would take a bag of butties, an empty pop bottle full of water and we would be in the woods for hours. We would even swim across the canal if we thought we would be late for tea. We might even find a rope to make a "tarzy" (swing), then play "knifey". Making chinese arrows, bows and arrows, spoggies (catapults), go carts and bikes from bits of old ones. And it was all fields! |

Playing out from breakfast until dusk with mates, only stopping to havelunch and tea at one of our houses. Dens in the woods. Enacting test matches on the school fields. Jumpers for goalposts, footy matches in the local park. Being chased on our bikes by the local gangs of skinheads. Playing Doctors and nurses with the girl next door School discos. Holidays in our caravan. Early crushes and first kisses......innocence and playful fun |

"Fingering girls after a disco and making my friends smell my fingers - like a boss
Haha
Haha you cad! "
Haha, fingering is a dying art - nobody fingers girls after a disco these days, I think that's why this world is so messed up these days... Nobody is happy with a bottle of cider and a cheeky finger. |

^^ This.
Having to get off your crack and knock on your mates door to see if he was coming out. Then riding with a group of others on your bikes for what seemed like hours even though it was probably only 2 miles away. Then having to rush home when it started to go dark. |
