When you receive a message off someone who has the same name as a family member, what do you do? I personally can't sleep with someone who has the same name as my little brother (Harry), or my Dad (David - but Dave's fine?)
How many other people experience this? Do the same family names in swinging/sexual partners bother you? Are there any people you won't consider sleeping with, based on their name alone?

Yes...i personally tend to avoid the 'princesses, divas & Lady...(Add your preferred initial here)' types.
Oh & if you got the same name as my mum, that's a little off putting to me too |

I have no problem with names, I've slept with a Ann a Lorraine and Elaine and a Cheryl, the names of my mum, sister, grandmother and daughter, at the end of the day they are just tag's we have to identify ourselves, they are not a representation of the people whom use them.
would you eat a bacon sandwich if you knew the pig was called by the same name as a family member ?

I think a lot of my personal kinks and preferences go towards the more extreme sides of role play, such as, but not limited to daddy/daughter role play, which is why if I slept with a guy called David (which is my dad's name), and was to act out that fantasy with him, that would be too weird... Also I don't want to really think about my family when I'm having sex?! |

Not sure I could go with someone with the same name as my daughter. Joining in with a guy with the same name as my son would be odd too. Luckily they both have unusual names so I'm safe!
I have one super hot name where that alone is a turn on. And one name that could never be replaced so would put me off as it would never feel right.
God I'm weird! |

We've not had anyone contact us who has the same name as anyone in my family...but I think yes it would put me off. Wouldnt be able to help the mental association, and yep completely agree that I wouldnt want to inadvertantly have a family member pop into my head during sexy shenanigans!
What we have found annoying though is couples that use fake names...so for weeks we've been chatting to/messaging/thinking about a couple, and in our heads they are 'a' and 'b'...then get to a social and it's 'oh yeah btw thats not our real names we're actually 'c' and 'd'. By that time the fake names have taken root and we cant think of them as any other name lol. |

Must confess to being a bit shallow here but yes, usernames have an impact. I like those that are original and either funny or make me think but then of course, what we consider amusing or interesting varies from person to person. |

Kind of the same for us. If a male we like the look of shares a name with a dad or brother it's a no-no for us. We haven't had too many fems over to worry about it but we suspect it will apply all the same. |

I can't meet guys with the same name as my late husband. Just doesn't feel right.
Strangely though when I point this out , they are quick to say well my names really ?...... Lol
Usernames have put me off before . The really , to me , gross ones , like pussy ripper. |

I even have nicknames for people's usernames, for example Fabio is Mr T to me |

I can understand this as there was a girl at work who had sex with a boy who has my name. I didn't touch her in case she got a reputation for having the two of us. |

Go upmarket and have a double barreled name then, I think Dangleberry-Clegnut has quite an air of sophistication about it |
