The 'ghost' chilli (naga or jolokia chilli) is the hottest availablr for sale in the UK. " Yes that's true. But it doesn't apply here, as all you are doing is adding the thickness of paper. A4 copier paper is about 75 microns in thickness. Double that, 150 mic, 300mic, 600mic, 1200 mic....its still very very small.
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) |
"The limit a piece of paper can be folded in half is only really limited by its original size." It's more about the thickness as every time you fold the thickness doubles, the folded edge is curved and is more difficult to fold and the effect of wrinkles and creases becomes significant. The maximum folds achieved is 13 using 12 km of industrial toilet tissue. They ended with a 1.5 metre wide and 76 cm high stack with 8192 layers. Mathmatically, to fold anything in half, it must be Pi times longer than its thickness, and that, depending on how something is folded, the amount its length decreases with each fold differs.

All mammals have fundamentally the same bones, lengths have evolved to vary but they are the same bones. Even whales and dolphins?" Sort of. For the upper limbs its exactly the same, the radius and ulna are in the flippers. For the lower limbs its less clear cut, the pelvis has detached from the spine and to lower limb bones may be gone or in some cases detached. The point was really making was that elephants are not unusual in their bone structure. You can follow simple principles to work out the skeleton of mammals, birds, probably reptiles too.
