Bradford

High streets were judged on how many "unhealthy" outlets such as fast food restaurants or takeaways, tanning shops, bookmakers and payday lenders they had.

Healthiest high streets are due to their higher concentrations of pharmacies, health centres, museums, art galleries, leisure centres and libraries.

Pubs and bars were also included on the healthy list because the interaction with other people is good for your mental health.

Places with the unhealthiest retail areas:

1. Preston

2. Middlesbrough

3. Coventry

4. Blackpool

5. Northampton

6. Wolverhampton

7. Grimsby

8. Huddersfield

9. Stoke on Trent

10. Eastbourne

Places with the healthiest retail areas:

1. Shrewsbury

2. Ayr

3. Salisbury

4. Perth

5. Hereford

6. Carlisle

7. Cambridge

8. Cheltenham

9. York

10. Bristol

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Oxford Street (London) hit its emissions limit for the year in January.

Lots of unhealthy streets out there.

I will confirm preston, and it's surrounding areas are unhealthy and mainly shitholes now. Surprised it's the top area though, expected the whole country to be just as bad.

My town centre is mainly, takeaway shops selling greasy, carb loaded foods. Poundshops selling sugar loaded, heavily processed products. Several fruit and veg shops/market stalls that do sell cheap fruit and veg but not much variety, just the usual cheap stuff you could buy anywhere else for cheap. And charity shops, a few specialised shops and clothes retailers.

Leisure wise there are loads of coffee shops where you can sit on your arse and have a brew, and loads of cafes. There are a few overpriced gyms and a council one that's way outside of the twon centre but not too far i guess.

A bazillion nail shops that reek of glue when you walk past, not that many tan shops. Loads of hairdressers.

No culture whatsoever, we have a park that is alright, got a fountain that looks nice, and a hall that is shit but is something to do for free. Fair amount of pubs, most of them shut down years ago and have been turned into flats or have been left derelict.

Teens do alright round here for things to do, there's a good support network for them for all kinds of things from job seeking, to legal advice, to clubs that offer things to do every night. There's a centre near me that seems to be for old people but at least they don't have to become isolated so that's good for them. A lot of the free parent and toddler stuff has gone and not been replaced by anything free or otherwise.

So basically unhealthy food outlets and grooming shops are doing well here.
