Watching a programme on ch5 I know don't shoot me...  I feel sorry for these women who get sucked in by promises of love...by the looks of it in exchange for a visa. Are we a sucker for love? Does it make us blind? |

I'm really quite a cold person, I dont believe anything any man says to me, I don't actually go for love, I've never been in love in all my life, I just dont get how some people seem to fall in and out of love and go from partner to partner all the time, I think some people just have a need to be with someone and feel wanted they believe what's told them because they want to believe, I think this type of person stands out and are a easy target for users |

I've got The Good Wife on and Alicia's husband is being a rat, again!
It's a difficult balance keeping a wary eye AND opening yourself up to love and trust.
I think some people, not just women, get swept up with the rush you get with lust. Being given what appears to be love is also hard to resist. When it works it's beautiful. When it doesn't it's awful and even worse if you have been deceived.

Beautiful? I think it's naive, i can see the sentiment in what your saying but the reality is this sort of thing has been happening for too long! These women need to be more aware of what they're doing or these guys who will resort to these long term tactics to better their own lives will keep having stories to tell. |

Not really naive no. Although i get your point i'm looking at this a different way.
Everyone can lie to you, every single person. From those you hardly know to those you know really well.
To just be able to trust that people are who they say they are and are feeling what they feel really is beautiful. To not be tainted by distrust really is an attractive trait that most people don't have.
Imagine if everybody was like that? Trusting, honest and open. World would be 100% better. |

Of course in an ideal world but this ain't that world, these women have no choice but to wise up or be taking for a fool. That type of trust & honesty exists in children until they scrape their knee & learn how to avoid it again. These women have the benefit of seeing someone else make the mistake yet still go ahead & do it.
The other side to this is these guys live in difficult circumstances. It's oppurtunity to them & no different to the gold digging bitches in Hollywood, they just on a different pay grade |

I've worked hard for what I have, and I have three daughters who have worked hard and made me very proud.
I can't see any situation where I'd take leave of my senses and hand over my lifes work and my childrens legacy to a man.

I guess if you crave love then these women won't see what others do and want to believe it's real. Sad for them to believe it and shame on those that prey on that vulnerability. It happens to guys too and I've seen that for myself. Just demonstrates how powerful loneliness can be sometimes. |

Not any more though. I'm harder and far more cynical now, it has given me a far more nihilistic _iew of life.
