Men need the seat up, and have learned how to make it so, and never complain when they find it down. Women need it down, have learned how to make it so, and complain bitterly when they have to! Does equality mean men have the right to complain or women have to stop complaining? |

Don't worry about putting the seat up or down, just wash the fucking piss you spray everywhere! Oh and wash your hands, put a new roll of toilet paper out when you finish the last, wash the bath out after you bathe, throw away old razor heads, put the lids back on toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, bath products etc, wash the sink out after you clean your teeth....have I forgotten anything? Oh yes,I don't have a partner any more,I don't have these problems |

This wins the dispute for me, otherwise men should stop complaining when gran pisses all over their favourite armchair |

Women use the loo with seat down for peeing and pooing. Men need the seat up for peeing but down for pooing. Therefore, unless it is in an all-male environment, the majority of toilet usage requires the seat to be down.
Hence, it makes more sense for the seat to be left down.
Furthermore, you should never flush the toilet with the lid up as the force of the flush causes water droplets to be launched in the air and which will then fall on other surfaces. Do you keep your toothbrush in the bathroom? It could be contaminated with droplets of urine or, even worse, fecal matter. (Might be the reason toothpaste tastes so shit! )
So, the best solution is for everyone to not only put the seat down but also put the lid down. What else do you think it's for? |

nothing stpping men peeing with the seat down, either learn to aim or sit down, but they choose to put the seat up, leaving it up to pee is not really an option for women so they have to handle the seat before they can pee, lovely! OP said it was a womans home, certainly no reason except lazyness and bad manners for a visiting male to leave it up. |

I've seen women going into the men's loos before. Usually it's because they cannot wait whilst queuing up. Not what you're thinking, but that type of lady does exist. |

my sister and I have barred the door of the gents a few times, family days out aswell as pubs, when the queue for the ladies gets silly, especially family days out when there is a line of kids waiting! |

"What's wrong with leaving it up?"
One of my cats doesn't think to check the lid is down and has jumped into the loo several times.
The seat and lid stay down when not in use here, on pain of pain. |

Have you ever tried to urinate with an erection in the morning it's very very hard.......and I don't mean the erection. As for leaving it up, I don't do that, I close the seat and the cover seat. that way things are equal, if I have to lift, so does she haha! |

"Thank your lucky stars you have a toilet to worry about seat up or down.
My bathroom consists of a camping loo right now and that's it.
Are you not-so-glamping?"
Glamping would be amazing right now , at least there would also be a shower. |

I keep the seat down and have a piece of cardboard over my loo seat with a three inch hole in it....just for the challenge of 'expert mode' |

If not my house I'd put it back where it was... Generally I'd leave it up as nothing worse than finding the seat covered in piss... Take a knee isn't just for the American Military, one knee, all the golden joy in the pan, quick dab to remove any excess, put away, standup and flush... They should teach this at school... Next Post, toilet brush, know how or just an ornament x |

Hell yes, lid down before flush every time.
Not all men have to have the seat up to pee. Sometimes it is easier to just plant ones ass on the seat (such as as night and one cannot be bothered turning the blipping lights on). |
