Who in you opinion is the better drivers??
Only this week i have seen on the news a new study that is starting ta overturn the myth that women are better drivers lol
Logically lookin at it men seem ta do the most miles so its obvious that they will have the most accidents
And accidents are what insurance companies use ta come up with the women are better than men statement
However as driving is a big chunk of my job i can honestly say from experience that the biggest percentage of peeps that cut me up,tailgate,drive at excessive speeds etc are women
i have even on occasions witnessed women applying lipstick in the fast lane of the M6,reaching behind to calm a backseat child and even applying nail varnish (i kid you not)
So whats your veiews folks and try ta keep it calm pmsl xxx  |

I believe men have a tendency to be bad drivers due to thinking they know best. I believe women have a tendency to be bad drivers due to not paying attention.

Oh dear, soapy's hanging his suddy nuts on the block now ! Women are generaly safer drivers, men more , erm, lets say, accurate. Put a trailer on a van with no inside mirror and ask her to reverse around town. But who would you trust to drive your daughter to school , the female friend, or the spotty boyfriend with the noisy Nova .?  |

As a long distance driver in my opinion there are as many bad women drivers as there are bad men drivers, and as many good women drivers as there are good men drivers, courtesy for both sexy's has gone out the window, arrogance has now taken over the roads, people have no idea how to use islands/ roundabouts, red traffic lights are there to be jumped mainly by men in german cars, And best of all I have become a firm believer that at some point in the late 80's kellogs did actually give driving lience's away in corn flake packets, new drivers should be restricted to engine size, no of passengers allowed, and take lessons as part of the normal driver experience to include night driving and not just daytime driving.
My two penneth worth done for the day lol. |

I don't think you can categorise either sex as a better driver, but here goes. I've got my tin hat on ready, lol!
In my experience men tend to be better at estimation and spacial awareness whereas women tend to be better at multi tasking. This means men are more likely to estimate with a greater degree of accuracy the space required to turn a car in, or what size gap it will fit through. It also means that women are less easily distracted from the task in hand than men, they will exhibit more control of the vehicle while something else is occurring, such as a kid playing up in the back seat or a fly buzzing around.(btw, I only said "tend" some men can juggle and some women are accomplished map readers)
Now onto the subject of temperament;-
Men generally have more competetive urges with other drivers. This can cause they to take rash gambles more often than women, eg;- going hell for leather as a light changes to amber. This can cause accidents, but is needed in desperate situations.
To sum up, more women will make better chauffeurs than men, more men will make better getaway drivers than women. And before someone shoots this entire reply to pieces, it is intended half tongue in cheek, and by no means is it a generalisation right across the board! |

Interestingly freudian how you weight the female as a "friend" but instantly degrade the man to an unlikeable stereotype. |

Only yesterday i had a girl racer over take me before a bend in a little corsa i was doing the speed limit of 60mph her car did not have the power to overtake me but she went for it anyway, now i have a ribber tyre scorch mark on my bumper where her rear wheel went over my bumper, i had to chase her to get her stop and then she said the accident was my fault, go fiqure !! |

You could put it down to the age old multi-tasking debate. Women seem to be able to do things in a non linear manner way easier than men can which works against you while driving.
Also I've heard people say it's down to spacial awareness and the fact men have it instinctively and women have to learn it. Apparently a hang over from hunting and gathering.
My personal view is that women are great at everything and are awesome and I would never have a bad word said about them.

Instead of who is better at driving cars, men or women? we should debate who is better at sex in cars, men or women?
My vote is for men -we have to be more cautious of unintentional gear stick penetration!!! :D |

Doing @ 50k a year mixed roads I see many people being idiots & from time to time I have to admit I've been an idiot too. It's down in my eyes to distractions. Phone hands free or not. Smoking listening to loud music, chatting about your bargains from the mall lol even looking at a gorgeous girl walking down the street you sometimes miss the red light or parked car. Thank god I've only had one accident & 3 points years ago!
