I'm watching Back in Time for Dinner on BBC 2, and they are having a Vesta meal.

I haven't had one in years. Used to love those crispy noodles. In fact I want some now

The land of grey peas and bacon

We tried one a few months ago and it was disgusting. Roger wanted to relive his childhood. You can still buy them

I used to love them as well but the taste has changed a lot Ive gone off them completely now.At one time you could just buy those noodles you crisp up in fat just by themselves, then for some reason Vesta stopped doing them.

You can do something similar with broken up bits of linguine

When I was 11, I would make these up myself and I thought they were delicious.

I can assure you when I tired it again 10 years ago, it went straight in the bin, along with a can of Tizer I bought.
