Perhaps this is taking being picky, or stereotyping too far but do you find some names unsexy?
Can someone seem hot in their profile, until you see their name is Fred or Englebert or (whatever name), and you can't picture that name and hotness going together?
I know it sounds ridiculous - is ridiculous - but sometimes I find myself thinking it.

I mean their 'real' name, where they've put one on their profile, like Fred or Englebert. |

I know what you mean, but I had a relationship with a guy called "Bill" when I was 18 and he was 19. The name made him sound far older!
I can't see me shouting "oh yes Englebert or Reginald" in the heat of the moment ! |

Yes, 'Robert'.
I was off the mark with 'just about every name' but its still a high proportion, its usually the names when someone is describing themselves in the name. |

This might surprise some of you but my profile name isn't my real name.
As for sexy names I've always found Sally to be a sexy name cos of the Stone Roses song. Would love to meet a Sally but never been with one yet. Here's still hoping! |

I have to be honest and say.that no, a "real name“ on a profile that I didn't find sexy wouldn't put me off. if I met someone with a name that's a bit offputting I'll just give them another "pet name"!  |

The funniest thing about the first meet (we do social meets first, like many) is the divulging of the real Christian names - we met a lovely guy recently and when he said his name, the first reaction was "shit you have the same first name as my best friend" so I need to cleanse that particular though from my head when we next meet in May! |

I met a Sally once, drove like a lunatic. Always running all over town too. I did advise her it might be prudent to keep her feet on the ground. |

I know what you mean, there are some names that are just deeply unsexy or have connotations because of someone you know. I've always got over it though
I did meet a woman where I have the same name as her daughter, that could have been weird for her  |

I had a particularly delicious night with a guy I met in a nightclub.
The next morning we swapped names and he said "oh fuck, you have the same name as my little sister".
That was a sexy moment! |

I would like to have said no it really doesn't make a difference but after chatting to a guy who told me his name was one thing only to be told 2 seconds after meeting him that his real name was something different,my instant reaction was thank fuck for that |
