When I was in a bad way I would daydream about being another person, being somewhere else but it wasn't a good thing to do. It was an escape but it left me unable to cope with reality. It was all I wanted to do.
The only time I do it now is when I go bed. I fall asleep in 15 min. I understand now that the best way a cope with life is to deal with it head on. It gets easier and easier. The longer you leave things the worst they get. Be brave and it will pay off. You'll be proud of yourself and then end up with shit loads of confidence. |

I'm currently studying drama in college and That helps that's like an escape but most of the time when am at home or whatever it hits me especially before I fall asleep ill be falling asleep and then bam something I remember and there's me awake for another 2 hours, its hard to hit it head on when you have got problems though but I think its time to sy fuck it and get out there |

The gym worked for me. When I could face going.
I'm ok at the moment but a hot bath and a decent book used to help me chill a bit.
I second and third all the suggestions of a walk.
Be kind to yourself OP |

Obviously you have some shit on your mind that you need to face. Your college will have a counsellor.
USE IT ITS FREE! It helps a shit load to talk and get it of your chest. |

Share with a friend.
Don't think I have your problems but if ever I'm a bit down my friend gets me back up.
Spending weekends wuth her in her caravan stops me getting down in first place anyway! |

I cultivate a good foundation for my physical and mental health - sufficient rest and sleep, regular varied exercise, time with supportive loving people, yoga and meditation.
If things aren't so good, I take frequent breaks through the day. Small or longer walks and some time around nature. I usually spot patterns that will be less than positive for me fairly quickly and change routine. Ithe more you switch a poor pattern to a different one, the quicker it can become an automatic habit, so you don't have to think about doing it consciously.
I have friends who are supportive even if its about speaking frankly or laughing about life's or my insanity.
Make sure your life is richly dosed with things that are good for you and go easy on yourself at all times, without fail!
I hope you get some relief and your life feels better soon |

Open water swimming.
Heading out into the ocean on a beautiful day, just the sound of my breathing and the water splashing.
Stopping laying on back and floating, it's an amazing feeling.
Even better if it's raining but the water is calm. |

Yup, doing something physical will dissipate the stress hormones and release feel good brain chemicals, plus help you fall asleep easily, so is really well worth doing.

Music, reading, getting wrapped up in a film, gym. Maybe you could try writing it all down and getting it out of your head?
Bad things happen to good people. If you need help go and find it.
Good luck. |

Knowing where to start is always the hardest.
...i'd give advice but i'm in the same boat. I just go for a long walk or a long drive with the stereo on loud.
All the best.

I go to graveyard when things are bad as its so peaceful to gather myself together.
As others say o p counselling is possible but never be afraid or embarrased to ring the samaritans. |

Some of my coping strategies aren't the best kind. But they make me feel again.
I take a long drive, read some funny jokes, talk to a non judgemental friend or failing that a blast on the ps3 |

I head out to the middle if nowhere for anywhere up to a couple of weeks at a time .... Just me and Mother Nature in all of her glory ....... Being alone with the beauty if the dawn, the sunset, the flora and fauna ....... It helps me out everything into perspective |

Cycling, completely addicted and a lot fitter and feel it. Indeed I get irritable if I don't go out and I notice, which leads me to conclude that I must have been irritable a lot before.
Also if you join Strava you get to compete and have banter with people you'd otherwise never know. Recommend to anyone no matter unfit you think you are, I was 18 stone when I started, 13 now. |
