Im thinking of changing my laptop and have looked at a few new ones. Some have AMD processors and some have INTEL. I notice that the AMD laptops tend to be cheaper, does this mean they are inferior?. Any advice would be grateful. |

AMD are just as reliable and in many cases more robust. What you will find is some have larger cashes and faster cycle rates.
In reality in 18 months what ever you have bought will be out dated. So the best advice is not to spent too much and replace more frequently. Saying that if your not playing high end games you dont need a state of the art machine. |

Intel Dual core are really outdated, and don't run particularly fast.
Intel i3/5/7 are the newest, and fastest for a standard lappy.
AMD are better than the dual core, but not as good as the i5/7. But level with the i3.
After 3 days of intensive laptop shopping, I know this. And I still haven't managed to buy one yet!!! |

"Make sure it has a really large drum and at least a 1200 r.p.m cycle.
I love helping xx
Front or top-loader please Granny? "
I'm glad you asked that Laine. I find that people load all over the place these days. It's not always 'IN' the drum
If you opt to be top loaded it's useful to close your eyes and tie your hair back. If you go for the front loader Q tips are useful for belly buttons.
Play safe Laine. Always have some extra screws lined up.
You can keep it on your lap if you want xx |

In almost all product categories, you get no.1 and no.2 brands, no.2 being cheaper than no.1.
No.1 claims to be dearer because of the amount of money they spend on r&d, suggesting that they're better, while no.2 claims to be cheaper because they spend less on advertising than no.1, suggesting that they're better value.
With regard to Intel/AMD, as Big Bad says, there much of a muchness. You'll find that computers with AMD chips are cheaper than Intel fitted ones but just as good performance wise. |

performance is very similar with each company leap frogging the other with its latest design .
One crucial issue with laptops is heat and in that sense the intel chip is much cooler to run . |

If its a half decent brand they all do what they say they will.
Another possible thing to look out for is if you have kids or friends with kids at secondary school. Often you can purchase through the school and not pay VAT. Not a huge saving but then it goes up to %20 % next year that's £80 of a £400 laptop. |

See how much you know shorty! The screen is NOT spinning ..... it only appears to be spinning. I don't have AMD screen I have Z E N screen and as we all ask ...if no one watches the screen does it give a flick?
If people are having trouble understanding let me help.
Don't worry about INTEL or AMD if you need to ask take the whole laptop and RAM it UP URZ.
I thank you xxxx |
