Viking was actually a term for a sea faring form of warfare, anyone could go viking providing you had a boat and could pay a crew. The Saxons mostly reffered to the Invaders as the Danes, as in the 'danegeld' or dane gold, a bribe paid by the Saxons to stop the Danes ravaging there land.  |
