So....I did 30 mins of rowing this morning before work, rowed 5.4k thinking that would burn off a lot of calories so I wouldn't feel as bad for having a maccy's at lunchtime.

Logged it on my garmin appand it said I only burnt 239 calories.....That's not even a chips worth!!!

Bin the MacDonalds and switch to Jaffa cakes, apparently they contain less calories than you burn eating them, a bit like celery.

Earth...will stick to the bike next time...but take a cushion as my arse is still sore from Wednesday!! Bloody racing saddles...who puts a racing saddle on a watt bike!!

Get a gel saddle cover. I had one for when I used to go spinning. It had a drawstring thingy so you put it on the seat and pulled the drawstring tight to hold it on. Much more comfortable

Does your app take into account the calories you burn just for being alive or the ones you've burnt just doing the exercise?

Basically running or rowing at a steady even pace...hit training is far more effective and burns loads more calories!

I think without one it will be a general average amount by the app. You'd get a much more accurate reading with a monitor. However most 45 min-60 min aerobic/cardio type exercises I do burn around 500 cals so it might not be far off x

oh right!!

I need to ask someone at work to do me a 30min programme. I try to mix it up a bit, running,cycling, weights, rowing etc in the mornings before work and sometimes i go and do circuits at lunctime too.

I was getting fat so I've started doing 12 exercises classes a week - 4 sessions of insanity, 4 sessions of spin class, some aerobics, some bellydancing, some yoga and some weights!

I'm in a constant battle with my sweet tooth! If I could just ignore it Id probably shift this last 10lbs and be at my goal! But I can't. It's evil!! X

Google meltdown workout..3 times a week eat little and often 5 small meals a day cut back on sugar and carbs like bread and white rice.. Can't go wrong!

That's ok cos the 15 minute dance you do when you bite into it and it's hotter than the reactor at Chernobyl burns off the extra calories, plus when your tongue spontaneously combusts that's another couple of ounces weight loss

Weights are the way to go , google negative tention set, 45 mins on a three day split, with an extra 45 mins of cardio if you really want that comp. sub ten body mass.
