Got a mate and his new girlfriend down this weekend and and family all week next week. Its become a military operation to make sure the house is spotless. Nice foods in etc etc.
I've even bought cotton 'waffle' dressing gowns for guests in case they want to sit on the balcony and watch the sea. On top of that decorated the living room, as it was the last room that needed doing!
Starting to think I am over doing it! |

Sounds about right to me. I once started a deep clean about eight weeks before we had guests overnight. . I think it galvanised us to do what we would have done anyway.....once we got round to it. |

They are coming to see you not the house !
I would have done the same, except for the waffle housecoats, they will look like they are in a hotel.Depending on how friendly your mate and G/f are, you can get see through ones instead |

I hate having people to stay and don't have a spare room so the only person that ever stays over is my best mate. She crashes on the sofa, gets fed and watered and I normally pay for us to go on a day out the next day as it costs her a fair bit in petrol to get here x |

Thing is, we have really done up the house and they've never visited us here before. So its extra effort I'm putting in |

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire) |
I make sure there is nice food, I bake some desserts, and if they drink some of whatever they like (I haven't drank for ages now, so have a few things in the house but not much)
I don't have a spare room, but make sure my room is all perfect for them staying, lovely fluffy towels etc... I crash on the fold out bed in my wee boys room if he is away, or on the sofa if he is here... We don't often have overnight guests though. |

I don't have any family (except my kids) and I mover over 100 miles from where I grew up so friends don't come round, having noone stay over saves making an effort |

I've got too many things knocking about that I'd struggle to explain away if discovered, such as lady's clothing in my size, wigs, large fake boobs and a few people under the stairs that unaccounted for. I tend to discourage casual visitors just in case my mum is walking down my path as I'm bimbling up with some great eye shadow on. |

I think that redecorating was too much but you obviously want to impress your vistors and want them to enjoy their stay
I would put a vase of fresh cut flowers in their room and change these before they wilt. And don't forget to leave a bottle of water and a glass there too |

Can I book for two nights in a couple of weeks please? I'm planning a trip down that way if I can sort out the fishing element.
Do you charge extra for the waffle dressing gowns?
