"Would you go to Rome or Venice for a long weekend?
Venice so i could sing "just one cornetto" while on a gondola "
Lol ...obviously that's a good reason to go to Venice |

Never been to Venice, so I'd go there, but Rome was a great place to visit so would recommend that, people watching, culture, food and drink aplenty. Not sure you can pick a bad choice from those two |

"Depends on who I was going with!
Romantic smoochy weekend then Vencie otherwise I'd choose Rome
Do you not think Rome could be romantic too?"
Again depends on who you're going with lol
I guess I see Rome as a more cultural sightseeing City and Venice more romantic with the architecture & gondolas |

I've done both on numerous occasions and if you've done neither I would suggest Rome. There's just so much more to fill a long weekend. It's by far my favorite European city. |

"Would you go to Rome or Venice for a long weekend? " Both are nice Rome and Venice are hot spots and 1000s go most weekends and the summers its mad ... Venice in the summer can smell like rotten eggs I found that .. But both have loads of lovely things to see and loads to do.

"Rome. I've heard bad things about Venice. Expensive and it stinks apparently, but the architecture is lovely. "
We have been Venice many times and it has never stunk.
We stay in a 4 star hotel that used to be a palace and is amazing and not expensive at all.
It has plenty of non expensive places to eat that are fantastic.
We rarely pay to go in the tourist places as most are free and when we have paid it has been very cheap and always worthwhile.
Its is a wonderful place that i would happily live in if i was ever able too |

"we have been twice 3 times when it has been flooded, 2 times we went then by choice as it was fun "
im confused by the mathematics here.
you have been twice
3 times when it was flooded.
and 2 times by choice?
Would that not mean 5 times in total. Or at least minimum of three? So cant have been twice?

It could flood twice a day with the tides.

Have been to rome a few times and it truly is a spectacular city. Absolutely breath taking, history and beauty every where you go. Try to read up before you go as every lump of rock has tge history of the world behind it.
Havent been to venice yet but going next year.
Rome is known for its orgies and venice for its blinds. Perhaps tells you a little |

Human error which can't be altered on here by editing so i didnt bother to delte and re post as i didnt think anyone read what i put lol
We have been 5 times in recent years
The third time we went there was flooding, we chose to go the next time when it was likely to flood but it didnt happen much , we then went again when it was expected to flood and it did that time |

This!!
There's plenty of traditional tourist attractions - museums, art galleries, the fountains etc, combined with great restaurants and bars, a good transport system, good shops - and if you want to venture further afield there's plenty of great scenery surrounding it.
Last time I went I researched a lot of 'Spartacus' related history and did a bit of travel to some historical sites including Capua.
Venice was lovely but having been once I'm in no rush to return.
